I don't want to spoof my Wii U's firmware or update at the moment, but I want to get the free packs for Xenoblade X to improve load times and all that, since it's free is it possible for someone to download them and give them to another Wii U and it'll work?

You don't need to spoof your Wii U firmware at the moment, you can just download them from the eShop without issue.

But no, downloading on another system wouldn't work.

Edit: Assuming you're on 5.5.1, though I can't imagine any reason not to be.

I'm like.. on 4.1.0, last time I checked people said not to update?
Everything that works on 4.1.0 works on the latest firmware, so there isn't really a reason not to update. The IOSU exploit is also being teased for 5.5.1, so you'll be able to use that on the day it releases if you update.

It's pretty insane that after buying the physical version, you still have to download and install half of the game digitally to get it to run properly. I didn't even realize the texture packs existed for quite a while after starting the game, but they definitely do make a difference, so try to get them if you can for the best experience.

Alright I updated and downloaded all 4 packs, they'll definitely work with Xenoblade X if I use Loadiine to play it? The download said the DLC will be installed when 'I play the game from the Wii U menu' so just wanna make sure.

The xenoX data pack
(about 10 Go of the game installed on the wiiu/ USB to speed up loading, because loading from the wiiu/usb = faster than disc)
is useless if you use loadiine, because it loads the game from the sd card. With loadiine, the loading time is the same as the digital release or disc+data pack.

Oh is that so?... Well that was a waste of download then, but I supposed that does actually make sense the way you put it.
If you want, you can experiment yourself loadings time by comparing your disc version+data pack and loadiine... But yep, if you only use your backup, it was a waste of time... :-p

It was faster to play from loadiine than disc+DLC pack, because the DLC packs don't contain everything.
Playing from disc+DLC there were still clipping and elements appearing on the field, it wasn't loading as smoothly as when playing with loadiine.

That was good enough. but the passive online elements weren't justifying enough playing from disc. I completed from disc, without ever requiring the online features (exchanging tickets? only for people who want 100% collection).

I stopped playing when I completed the story. I don't think I'll ever go back to that game.
I'm more inclined to re-play Xenoblade Chronicle Wii!

disc+data pack loading time equals to digital release (about 0.5s slower than digital)
So that means loadiine is better than the digital release?!

Yep, me too. I have recently replayed xenobalde on the new 3ds... :-p
