I'm going to replace it myself, I can't risk them updating my sysNAND off of 9.2.

The Circle Pad no longer returns all the way to the neutral position. I'm pretty sure it's just dead skin/grease, but it'd probably be simpler just to replace it. I've opened it up already and it looks like a box connected by wires that sticks into the circle pad through a few washers.

EDIT: Clarfying: New Nintendo 3DS XL

See this thread I posted recently. It started out as wanting to buy a new console, but turned into repair how-to. I wasn't aware of small bits like the circle pad being sold third party, but I've fixed my wife's 3DS LL since posting that and it's 100% all good. Make sure you find the right pad for your console though -- I have a 'regular' sized N3DS so I'm dreading this if it happens to mine. The XL size is much more common I think.

Search youtube for how-to vids.

Turns out I can get a reasonably temporary fix by pulling the circle pad up out of the socket a little. It'll pop back in while I'm playing, but won't start sticking again for a little while longer. It's decent enough that I can even play an actiony game like Monster Hunter Generations without issue. (except for the aforementioned simple and repeated fix)

Do I need to just put in another washer or something to keep it from sinking in too low and causing friction?
