Would you pledge?

Pretty much we would be paying someone renown or perhaps it would be a collaborative effort (3DM, Skidrow, etc) in the scene to take a significant amount of time off to dedicate themselves to studying Denuvo and seeing how it ticks and how it can get cracked so that all future games can be DRM free. Out of respect to the game developers the crack would not be released until at least one month after the release of the game.

I highly doubt ks would allow this but if they did then probably not because with things of this nature it is easy to get scammed
It you read Kickstarter closely they aren't responsible for the outcome of any projects. There are a few scams I can think of that happened on Kickstarter, for example Ant Simulator (but that was the fault of scummy friends, not the dev himself)

With that said I'd pledge to this hypothetical Kickstarter if it existed cause I don't want any restrictions on anything I'm paying for.

Well I would imagine there would be legal issues though with a campaign like this

that is against kickstarters policies, as it is illegal and allows the resale or repackaging of others work as the final project. although, it would be a good project for us pirates to back. (and the respect to the developer's thing, releasing any crack to any game, even years after a game is released shows NO respect to the devs. a monthsw ait will only annoy customers. everyone will just wait a month to get the game free)

You say this like every living being will pirate and only pay unless there was DRM to stop them otherwise.

I still pay for all my games despite how easily I could pirate them, part of it is because I'm a collector but also because I respect their work so much that I would like to see a continuation of it.

I don't blame you to think that my intentions to wanting DRM removed is purely for piracy but companies should also take responsibility in how a game sells and not have piracy as an excuse for poor practices on their part (gameplay change from the norm, censorship, on disc/day 1 DLC, no demo, etc)

The recent port of Tales of Symphonia used this horrific DRM and has since been cracked, developers handled it very poorly when porting it and users reporting issues with the game and how the DRM is used. If there was a legit way to back it, I would.

i never said that was everyone's intentions. i can guarantee you piracy would be MY intentions. That still doesn't change the fact that its against kickstarter policies.

You literally said everyone. Last I checked everyone means EVERYONE.

If there was some way I can pay for my games on the promise that I wouldn't share my copy of the game with anyone I would do so everytime. DRM is just a way of the industry saying they don't trust consumers to not steal from them and it has rarely affected pirates while the hindrance to paying customers is real.

Kickstarter always sounds like a good idea on paper, but too much shit comes out of it for me to support anything on it.

Please don't let shit like Mighty No 9 set the standard of how all Kickstarter projects turn out. Without Kickstarter we wouldn't get games like Shovel Knight. I'll still support it to this day, just do your homework on the people behind it. Handing your money to some no name people is asking for trouble.

I am well aware of that, that doesn't change anything. Are you just going to follow me around all night?

Mighty Number 9 was just one of countless problems to come out of kickstarter. There have been a few great things to come out of it, but there's also been tons more crap to come out.
I personally don't care for the site because of their lack quality control that bothers me.
That and South Park already touched my other issues with the site. So go refer to the episodes about the "Washington Red Skins."

No I dont follow any particular users on this site, not sure where you got that idea of me.

Anyways I just dont find it fair to put down kickstarter as a whole for other legitimate projects that have proven themselves to be successful. I respect your decision either way and I hope I didnt sound like I was coming off as harsh.

We can agree to disagree, I don't mean to sound harsh nor rude either and I apologize if I did.
