Hardware [Q] Direct from Nintendo - Refurbished Firmware?

I was taking a look at that, because my girlfriend wants a system for herself, but we don't make too much money. Does anyone know if it would have an exploitable firmware, or if Nintendo would update it to 11.1 when they shipped it?

The only reason I had considered the refurb is because it'd save me $30, but if the firmware wouldn't be downgradable, I may as well drive down to the store and spend the extra bit to get a lower firm.

Their is a huge chance of that being 11.0 or 11.1
By the mario kart 7 bundle at the store because thats on a low firmware.

You can downgrade the current firmware (11.1), then install AL9h. Follow Plailect's guide from the beginning. You'll need a second hacked 3ds in order to pull off the downgrade though, if memory serves.

so basically, if your 3ds is exploitable, feel free to get any console you want at the moment. Just be ready to do a bit of work.

A friend of mine picked one up in July and it had version 11.0 I would think they wouldn't upgrade each one once they are packaged and ready for shipping and just upgrade the ones in process of repair or packaging but you never know.

Ahhh, that sucks. Well, if you don't have a friend locally that can help you out, then your best bet is ebay (message seller for current firmware) or a pawn shop/craigslist/etc ("can i test it out, see if it works first?").

It should be 70 dollars at the store because i think they lowered the 2dses price
