The only thing I'm missing is sound, but I can wait for that to be implemented.
Thanks @Rinnegatamante

v.1.0 released, now with audio support and better inputs :D

Changelog:
Code:
- Added audio support for both musics and sounds.
- Increased analogs deadzone.
- Made analogs less reactive.
- Added a launcher at vitaWolfen startup. It means no more 4 vpks.
- Replaced 3DS buttons references with PSVITA ones in some game strings.

Me likey. :D

Thanks you very much will try this right now!

EDIT:

Sound is working fine, but your own gunfire is less noisy then the sound of the Nazi's gun.
Old, corrupted save (Map2yyyyyyyyyyyy) is working again :)
There are some issues where you walk against invisible objects (even looking from a different angle doesn't make them visible, which did in the previous version with the invisible Nazi's)

PS. Location of invisible object (Floor 2 second area first door left)

So I've quickly gotten to this point on the PC and this is what it should have been rendering ;)

PPS. One last thing switching weapons with the L shoulder button makes it skip a few weapons most of the time :P Is there a easy way to fix that?

It can happen but it will require tons of work. @elhobbs was working on a Q3 porting for 3DS. If he will ever finish his port, porting such port to PSVITA should be a lot easier.
Not to sound rude or anything, but are you considering a port of heretic for the PSV ?
I believe that @elhobbs made a port for the 3DS , maybe you can use something from that.

I'm actually having issues getting the full version to work. I've dropped the ,wl6 files into /data/Wolfenstein 3D as instructed, but just get a C2-12828-1 error and a .psp2dmp file generated. Am I using an incorrect revision of the full version files?

No issues whatsoever with the shareware version, or with Spear of Destiny.
Just thought I'd post that whatever issues I was having with previous versions seem to be fixed with the latest release. Working great now.

Hi there, did you you ever sort this problem out? I'm having the same thing, actually a bit worse as Spear of destiny crashed a few minutes in.

cheers

Many thanks for the release :) I just installed on my vita 2000 and played about an hour of wolf3d full version with no major issues :)

I do have the same minor issue as Denny64 where the L trigger and Select seem to auto-repeat input very fast, making it skip though multiple weapons when you press the button rather than just one at a time.
Also, just wondering if it's possible to disable the floor and ceiling textures. After 20-30 mins I think I'd prefer the original flat colour if its a possibility.

Bro.... I cannot thank you enough for your ports.
Seriously... Both on 3DS and Vita. Amazing fun with them.

Besides thanking you, i'd like some fix if possible to the same issue a couple other users complained above. The weapon change button is broken.. It keeps changing indefinitly. Also, if possible, enable the control configuration in-game. Thanks a lot man!

Just tried another round with Wolf3D (full version).
When the character dies, a random elements sometimes spawn right in front of him (grid, guard, piece of furniture...). Odd.
Sleep mode made it freeze, also.

Yep I thought this was odd but doesnt effect playability :)

I did have a strange issue on my vita 2000 yesterday, where loading a save game would leave all enemies invisible. If I then died and respawned they would be visible again.
I copied the save from my vita to my PSTV to test but could not reproduce it. I then re-copied all files (full version of wolf3d) other than the save file (SAVEGAM0.WL6) from my PC back to my vita and it was resolved.

Unsure if there is a config file I overwrote or if somehow one of the data files became corrupt (although enemies were visible again in the same level after I died...), strange. Was hoping that it would also occur on my PSTV so I could provide the save file to aid reproducing the issue.

There are a few issues with invisible things. I should definitely check sourcecode, it could be the issues came when floor rendering is enabled (?)

I'd love the option to disable the floor and ceiling textures, if it solves some sprites not being displayed then even better :P

I messed around with loading and saving again last night, it seems to be random in that if i close the application then open it again, the invisible enemies will occur sometimes but not others. So likely not related to my savegame. When I first started playing I saved and loaded many times with no issue. It was only when I loaded a save after closing and re-opening the propgram that it occured.
One time when the enemies were visible there was a bit of audio glithching when enemies spoke also.

Introduction

vitaWolfen is a port for PSVITA of the classic old school FPS Wolfenstein 3D (formerly WOLF3D).
The port is still in a early stage so bugs can happen. If you find some of these, please report me them.

First of all I want to thank you very much for porting Wolf3D to the Vita. I'm brand new to the Vita homebrew scene and have already seen some awesome work, and this is the one that made me want to join the site. The game runs amazingly smooth and all the sound effects are as I remember them. I whipped through the first level and enjoyed it quite a bit.

The only trouble is, I can't get the full version to work! I began by downloading 1.0, which worked fine. I was confused to see that it was only the shareware version. So, I deleted it and installed 5.0 because that was the only one with all four versions of Wolf3D and SoD. It installs fine, and the menu says "full game" on mecha-Hitler's portrait, but when I try to launch the game I get a crash with an error that says "An error has occurred in the following application (C2-12828-1). It then talks about a core dump.

No one else seems to be having this problem so I'm guessing that it's on my end. I gave a shot to installing 1.0 on TOP of 0.5 but it didn't fix the problem (if I recall correctly it just went back to the shareware version). I didn't know what else to try so I figured that I'd ask you before I accidentally blow up my Vita. :P

That error code appears to be a fairly generic crash error, the web browser gives the same one when the henkaku exploit code fails to do it's thing.
Perhaps try re-copying the games data files from PC to vita or files from a different source.

The launcher for vitaWolfen v1.0 looks for the presence of the following files to enable the option to launch each game/version, but the program may very well crash if other files aren't found or are different than expected.
vswap.wl1 - WOLF3D Shareware
vswap.wl6 - WOLF3D Full
vswap.sdm - SoD Demo
vswap.sod - SoD Full

This is the contents of my data\Wolfenstein 3D folder with full versions of wolf and SOD: http://i.imgur.com/mkHrr4P.png
I deleted all the shareware files that came in the folder and copied over the full wolf/SOD ones.

Note: SAVEGAM0.WL6 is the first save game in the wolf3d save list, you may want to keep the save game file(s).
