I think they are doing it intentionally to give a level playing field for everyone. It won't matter anyway. I'm sure @Kaphotics and the rest of the hax crew will have an update out day 1 and the online will be filled with 1337 scr1p7 k1dd13 hax0rs

I highly doubt it'll be hack free.

It's so easy to do RAM editing (via NTR), even if we don't have Pkhex..

They are probably delaying the Pokebank release,
cause their servers went insane doing the XY release..

I have to agree with that, but I guess we could always rely on EXP share.

I haven't played online since the DS Days. But back then, you still couldn't have hacked Pokemon online. You could do it on Local but not Online. If you had a hacked Pokemon in your party it wouldn't let you play online, the hack checking wouldn't change.

When I say hacked, I mean out of the parameters of a legal Pokemon. So I wouldn't call them hacked. Just unjustly trained lol!

I don't think this will happen for at least a month.
Possible reasons:

• The game will almost certainly have a different save structure, especially in Pokemon data.
• It usually takes more than a day to update any program of this nature.
• There's also ROM research to do for pk3DS, which is also made by Kaphotics and SciresM.
• According to discussion in PKHeX/#152 (4th last comment), if there's a demo, it will be researched first.

Granted, it's possible to happen sooner, but don't get your hopes up.

iirc, pokebank use amazon cheap server.
delay for their own goods, otherwise is a disaster for all the pokebank user.

well editing ivs etc could be done on day 1 because of ntr custom firmware and all you need to find is the values of the ivs also save structer will be similar just like gen 4 save structure was similar to gen 5 because gen 7 uses the same base engine as gen 6 with improvements

Yea, it shouldn't be different. The homebrew bank just has to make it detect the titleid of the Digital Downloads of Sun/Moon and the titleid of the Physical Sun/Moon and that is simple.

If it was different then it would make it very hard to work with and incompatible with the Banks for XY and ORAS. Since the hardcore is written into XY and ORAS already.

Erm, may not be entirely true.

Since XYORAS Pokemon that was transferred to SM cannot be transferred back, minimally there will be changes to the structure.

They could have easily split off some boxes for only Gen VII. they could just code in the changes in structure.

Sure? I thought the only reason ORAS couldn't transfer to XY was because of you know, new abilities, new moves, new Megas, etc.

I know the structure for when XY was released was, the Pentagon for Gen6+ Pokemon (3DS Pokemon Games) and no pentagon for any of the DS and below games.

My speculation. I only paid once after the trial for XY then i stopped using it and got Homebrew PokeBank.

If I recall correctly between Gen 5 to 6, changes was the addition of encryption constant, memories, new OT, POKEAMIE stats, egg moves data, minimally. The pentagon was merely having origin game larger than B2W2 (think value was 25), Hence why people could previously import Pokemon and have the pentagon on an older revision of pokebank.

Changes they could do is remove encounter data that existed since generation 4 (but became unused afterwards).
Or add more markings.

Or make memories even more complicated.

There are any changes they can decide to make. Or maybe make no changes.

I don't disagree that the format will likely be similar, but there are things they could add or remove, depending on features..

eh when i play online though i gen like breedings all these teams takes times you need to get atleat 5ivs in the stat get pokemon with right nature and train it can take hours and hours to breed a whole team and when the team gets banned in a tier you have to breed a new on all over again i only breed for trophys since competive pokemon you breed will become useless

youll get all the old ones back eventually. and breeding has only gotten easier and gets faster as you breed more now.
and honestl, you really only need 31 in speed anyway.

I'm not really following this. You could transfer between XY/ORAS using Pokébank and I'm pretty sure locally as well.
