I don't know any other forums to post this, so I'm just going to post it here.

So I'm making a Sonic 1 rom hack and I need a sprite artist or two to help out.
It's an OC and I know how much people hate Sonic OCs, because I do too.
But this OC is a childhood OC. My first stuffed animal in a Sonic game...(I know, it's silly)
Enough of the backstory and to the sprite requirements.
  1. All sprites MUST be approved by me
  2. You must do ALL of Sonic's Sonic 1 sprites, not just 1 or 2.
That's all the main requirements. PM me if your interested or know someone who can help! :D

-NOTE- You will not get anything out of this except credits, my appreciation, and that good feeling you get when you help someone out. THAT IS IT! Thank You!

This seems a bit pushy, does it not?
I'd suggest you commission a sprite artist to do this for you. Yes, that would require money. But no one's going to be putting that much work in for free, especially with something that no one really would want but you (Sonic 1 with your childhood stuffed animal)

I think your completely right, but I have no real means in paying someone. So I'm just looking for someone who will do the job just for fun.
I wouldn't want people doing the work for me if they don't want to, and get nothing out of it. That's just rude.

Alright, well, in that case, it may be quite a bit harder to get spriters onboard for it.

I agree ceedee.. I entered here thinking " if this project is nice I can try to lend a help", but then I come and there was nothing about the project just " I'm doing something for me and I don't want to pay"

Man we do a lot of " free" work like fan translation, if the project call us, so, tell more about the project itself, history and goals, maybe you can find someone to help out XD

Also proof you can do it, not just ask for help if you don't know that you could actually make use of it ... (MAybe it's me that was too dumb but I tried stage and sprite hack of sonic 2 and failed miserably even to get help or tutorials...)

To be honest, I would love to pay anyone who decides to help. It's just the factor of age.
I know people think I'm way to young to make a good rom hack. (But it's more of a slight change in the game to be called a rom hack. It's just gonna have a few level, music, functionality, and character changes.) And I know no one really wants to be under the supervision/work for a 14 year-old. Yes I'm 14 years old, that's why paying someone is out of the question.

If anyone is still interested...On to the rom hack!
-Like previously mentioned, it won't be a total overhaul. Just a few changes.
  • Homing attack
  • Super Peel Out
  • New Music
  • Modified Stages
  • Spin Dash
  • Light Speed Dash
  • New Characters
That's basically it.

-Goals/history
  • I actually just started the rom hack yesterday. (But it was planned for awhile)
  • I at least want to have the rom hack playable with the new sprites.
  • I want this hack to be acknowledged at least once.
-Proof
This probably isn't enough proof but it's worth a shot.
I'm currently making a Pokemon Fire Red hack right now. PKmon Blaze Red Advanced. I tried making a thread on it in The Pokemon Community Forums, but apparently I didn't have enough screenshots. (In-Battle shots don't apparently count)

It really isn't out of the question... You could buy a virtual Visa gift card from a store and use that, perhaps? Or have a parent do it for you?
I know people think I'm way to young to make a good rom hack.
Age doesn't have anything to do with it, in all fairness. It's more of a skill thing.

more than paying, if your project is interesting, people would help " for free" (For the project itself xp), if it's really personal only paying woud work, or a friend XD
age doen't matter , rhs is why I told that you nee dto prrof the project you are saiyng would work (like that one wanting to port mario sunshine to 3ds ... )

I like what you're aiming for here... however, I think you're setting your scope a little large for a first project.

If I were you, I'd start by dabbling in smaller things, and then working your way up by learning some M68K Assembly and so on and so forth.
