Ok so I modded a standard New 3ds from japan and I have a few questions. For one, most of my US region games work but for some reason I cant get majoras mask physical cart to work. Also some the banners are in Japanese still? My last question is: Would changing my 3ds' menu region fix any of that?

I don't know why majoras mask doesn't work. But for your first question, some games actually contains several languages, Pokemon for example, even though they're region locked. These games will show the banner corresponding to your 3ds's region if the region lock is removed by CFW. If the game offers no in-game language options you probably need to use language emulation plugins in order to see English on a JPN console. Just don't mess up with your 3DS's home menu.

Well all the games play in English so that's not the problem, just the banners lol. Ive heard that people can change the home menu's region. I believe its this guide https://github.com/Plailect/Guide/wiki/Region-Changing

Yes, it's possible but not recommended. You'll probably have trouble accessing eshop after region changing. And why don't you just buy a US 3ds if you want English banners, considering importing consoles from Japan costs more than buying local consoles which have native English support. Well I just don't get it since I imported my JPN just for Japanese eshop access. I guess you have other reasons but I just don't think it's worthwhile to do region changing just for banners.

I have both. A New 3ds XL from the US and a standard New 3ds from JPN. I don't want to change regions because of the banners. I just don't want to mess with using Luma's region Emu for individual games to get the correct language, banners or DLC to work. Just change the region and be done with it. And E-shop is useless to me lol

I have a n3ds (non xl) as well from japan. The way I overcame this was to leave my sysnand w/ a9hl in Jap, and set up an emunand and change the region of the emunand. So i have my Emu as default USA region, and when i want to go to sysnand I just hold L on boot.

The banners are due to multiple language support of the game. I'm not sure about Majora's mask though.

A9LH to new region's only downfall is lack of eshop unless you can find a virgin 3DS that's never gone online in that region.

Well I dont want to waste 1.5gb on an emunand. Plus I really have no need for a JPN sysnand

True, I dont mind, and with space I have a 128gb sd. If you region change the sysnand you will have No eshop, either Jap o USA, you will have to use freeshop.

Yeah I can see why you don't mind lol. Like I said above, E-shop is useless to me xD
I thought the same, eshop is useless, but there are multiple things, like pokebank, that rely on good nnid/eshop/etc to work correctly. But they are not so critical things.
