Hacking A9LH vanilla firm launcher?

Hi fellow tempers,

Does anybody know a "CFW" like SaltFW or so for A9LH being able to launch me into a vanilla environment?

I specially want the signature checks being enabled, but a more vanilla touch is always welcome. Only sysnand, without emunand support, slim as possible.

It is obviously for homebrew testing purposes. I can always fork SaltFW, but I think I should ask first.

ShadowNAND only launches without patches without SD, you need a CFW for SD loading, afaik. And I do need the SD

shadownand has sig patches, i think he wants a totally stock FW no sig patches, no region free...but yeah afaik nothing like that exists (except the stock FW )

I think I'll just fork SaltFW to disable the sigcheck disabler (duh) by code. If there's enough requests I'll ping @Shadowhand to add a branch to SaltFW without patches.

You can freely fork SaltFW, however without sigchecks you won't be able to install CIA homebrew.

OK! So I cloned SaltFW locally and stripped it down to the core.

Spoiler: Features (Or lack of them)

- No splash screen
- No screen init (3DS system inits them afterwards)
- So, no error reporting
- No button check (Always boots in safe mode)
- Signature checks are active
- No reboot patches
- Still does TWL/AGB patches
- Still loads custom firmware.bin at root or /SaltFW/firmware.bin
- Still write protects A9LH (just in case!)
- It weights 19.096 bytes (about half the size of SaltFW)

Right now it works on O3DS with 11.1.0-34.
I think it works on N3DS aswell but have not tried.
I also think 9.X systems are not supported.
If someone needs it for reasons, pm me.

Couldn't you just use corbenik? That's what I did to launch my "ofw" exploit testing emunand. You can have corbenik launch with absolutely no patches on, or just the ones you want

I was thinking about that. Personally, I dont like it too much. I guess you're right.

you can use corbenik / cakes to have the "cleanest" environment. just enable FIRM write protection (just to be sure) and there you go. nothing else needed.
