I think I bricked my 3ds, I tried doing DSiWare Downgrade on my 3DS with A9LH already installed just to test if DSiWare downgrade still works on the latest firmware of to test if all my files are correct. I can't load HG9, D9, or anything. Any suggestion?

EDIT: I have all my backups, NANDmin, OTP, F0F1_N3DS.bin, etc.

Yes that will 100% brick your 3ds to use dgTools on an a9lh system. You just wrote garbage to FIRM0.

Thank you, should I write the pre-A9LH backup or the post-A9LH backup? I have both. Or it doesn't matter?
Once you have your nand mod, take your pick. I recommend NANDmin, it's easiest.
Then just redo a9lh. Save your otp in a safe place.

Thank you both. Now this is the best opportunity to test if I can do a hardmod. If I fail, then I just created my new paperweight haha. Will report back after doing a hardmod. Thank you.

Glad to hear you fixed that. I'm still curious about why doing a downgrade via dgTools on a9lh could lead to a brick. Shouldn't the CFW protect the critical region used by a9lh?

A9LH is a broken FIRM0 and that forces the 3DS to use firm1. In the firm1 there is some code that clears firm0 and writes code to it, after that it runs it. By restoring a backup that firm0 is repaired and yeah

So if I were to uninstall a9lh on fw v11.1. I can now downgrade the firm without bricking?

It is pointless. It has already been confirmed to work on 11.1

Actually I've already downgraded one yesterday. I just want do do it for a different reason. Anyway, I think I'll try to do a permanent hardmod hack first before doing these foolish stuff.

I'm glad we have brave people like you in the scene. If everyone was afraid of what would happen to their console if they experimented then we'd learn nothing!

Step 1: working, permanent hardmod
Step 2: unleash the bricking power
Step 3: Restore nand, go step 2

In other words, the sole purpose of a permanent hard mod should be to fiddle with it for the community.
