Make sure that you are applying the patch to an unmodified ISO. Many have been trimmed and will not work. Make sure the CRC is correct or the patch will not work.

Here is the ISO information:
  • Phantom_Kingdom_Portable_JPN_PSP-Caravan
  • NPJH-50451
  • 2011-10-04
  • 677 MB
  • CRC32: 4F5002C4

So I'm running into the problem XpanD has, as well as getting an unresponsive black screen every time I go to 'A Rival Appears!' with Alexander's introduction. I used Babylon to make the maps in that chapter, and I can watch the cutscene but when it's supposed to transition to combat (or I skip it) it's just an unresponsive black screen. I edited the .ini file FuncReplacement's to false, and it still occurs (I didn't start a new save file, I used the old one that I had started when FuncReplacement was set to true.) It also doesn't let me use the F-keys to load chapters or anything. It may be a PPSSPP issue, I'll try with another emulator.

If anyone has any advice on how to fix this or what the problem might be that'd be awesome.

Still getting this issue.

I'm also getting the issue DameonLG has. I'm also getting the one where the base goes O.B.

Edit: I think I fixed the first problem at least. In the SYSTEM folder open the ppsspp.ini file and find "FuncReplacements = True" then change True to False. That should fix it.

Edit Edit: Oh wait somebody already said that.

I have come upon a bug that won't let me progress after beating Mission 6-5
I have beaten the game 5 times and even Petta Mode, but now I can't get past Mission 6-5 anymore.

No matter how often I beat this mission, the story doesn't progress.
The next mission just doesn't appear.

I have a savegame before beating mission 6-4 and one after beating 6-5.
No matter what I do I cant get mission 6-6 to appear

Here are the two savegames uploaded to Mediafire

Can confirm this and another person on gamefaqs have this problem too.
I even have loaded the save file on a Japanese iso but still can't unlock stage 6-6
It seems the bug influences save files too.

This or the ps2 version?

There are many scenes that I dont understand and menus that are still not translated.

Soo this or ps2? La pucelle ragnarok was worth it because I understood everything

Hey, so, it's been a long time since I've been around here, but I felt it appropriate to say since someone had bumped this thread: Thanks to the power of NISA cashing in on non-Disgaea titles, Makai Kingdom has officially been announced to be getting a new port, this time with the PSP content confirmed, bundled along with ZHP, to be released in the coming Spring on Switch and PC!

It's been an incredibly long time since the PSP version of Makai Kingdom (and La Pucelle) have come out, that I had effectively abandoned all hope of it happening, but I'm glad to see that my expectations are subverted in the end. I'm hoping this paves the way for La Pucelle Ragnarok to finally be localized, and given that Volume 1 just came out a little over a week ago from this announcement today, I'm thankful I'll likely not have to wait long to hear.

Thanks to ChepChep and everyone involved who helped get that content translated in the first place before this moment. It's been a long 7+ years.

I feel I should chime in. I am ecstatic that the PSP version of Makai Kingdom has been officially been announced for the Switch and PC.

This was a major effort and was my second PSP translation project. People at the time said it was impossible to get any PSP translations done and I went about to prove them wrong with La Pucelle.

Thank you to everyone who helped with La Pucelle, Makai Kingdom and Half A Minute Hero 2 PSP translation. It was a fun project to work on at that time in my life.

The short story on Makai Kingdom is that I got burned out working on it and required too much assembly programming to fix all the bugs. I was not as excited as I was about La Pucelle and Half A Minute Hero 2.

I always dreamed about getting Ore no Shikabane wo Koete Yuke translated but it was too big of a project for me to handle. It is the last interesting PSP rpg that still needs translating. Hopefully someday someone will tackle it or get an official localization.

Please support and enjoy all these awesome NIS Switch/PC rpg ports.
