im so lost, I got the henkaku thing. Now what can I do to play VPK files?

Open MolecularShell and press "Select" to open your FTP server. Then connect to your Vita using your favorite FTP client software. Browse to ux0: and create a folder called "vpk", put your vpk files in that folder and then stop the FTP server on the Vita. Browse to ux0:/vpk and then install the VPK files in that folder.

Yes, you have to install Henkaku every time.

Right now? Yes. Right now there's PSN spoofing with Henkaku, however it's possible Sony can ban your account so it's not recommended to use extensively. Once Sony updates the Vita again, it's likely the PSN spoofing technique used currently won't work, so you won't be able to play online. I simply wouldn't recommend doing it at all.

where does vitamin come into play?

got some more questions:

1) do I still have to install henkaku again everytime I turn on my vita?

2) Can I play online with vpk files?

Vitamin is used to dump games, but you don't need it to install backups.

1. Yes, you have to reinstall HENkaku everytime you reboot your Vita.

2. I think so, but I wouldn't recommend it. We don't know anything about online using backups as of now. You might get banned for it.

Press Circle when you are done using it.

No, not with HENkaku at the moment.

No. PSP ISOs are not currently playable.

To answer your future question, yes, it's most likely possible. No, we have no idea when this will happen. It could be months from now that anyone cares enough to do something with PSPEmu.

another question, what are the risks in running digital dumps of games from another region?

I'd wager that the biggest risk right now is using the online features of game dumps, which might result in a ban of your account. Other than that we don't really know. I have a hard time imagining something bad might happen to your device, though.
