Hiya guys! So I plan to get myself a PS-Vita, 3.60 and below of course.

I'm asking here. I have absolutely zero knowledge in PS-Vita stuff. What console/game bundles would you recommend me? The best value for my money. That includes: the console itself, memory card, and games, if there are any coming in bundles. I assume any packages are shipped with firmwares below 3.60 too, right?

So yeah, awaiting your suggestions :)

3.61 just got released a month ago.
Your chance on finding one with 3.61 is really low.
Even finding one on 3.60 would be low.

You're free to chose whatever you want.
Ofcourse, I might be wrong on it but as Vita stock doesn't clear as fast, I'm 99.9% certain of it.

Yeah I figured so :P

My question was mostly regarding the price. If I could get a good sized memory card and a couple of games included in a brand new pack, that would be perfect. Best price for the best basically :P The PS Vita has been over priced for way too long here.

Idk mate, I just got a Vita with COD, AC3 and LBP + 2, 4GB memcards + rubber protector + carrying pouch for 130 quid.
Granted its got user scratches but eh ;p
Then again, I also dun live in Canada, so I won't be able to help you on it.

a 64GB memcard goes for 99USD I believe...
If you want to play backups in the future, a 64GB would be recommended.

Edit: tho I think Vita games won't go over 4GB, so you'd still have room for like 20 Vita games.

The memory cards are insanely expensive. I was reluctant to even buy a PSTV for $40 because of the card prices, but being a cheap, poor son of a bitch, this is the route I took rather than potentially missing out on the scene completely.

I'll give it a look in the week. Nothing hurries anyway :P I won't mind a few scratches,as long as I don't pay 300CAD for a brand new console.

PSTV has a USB port doesn't it?

I'm pretty sure that with enough advancements in the Scene, they can redirect all memory access to the USB port.
Kinda like VMCs on the PS2.

Used is the option then.
No shame in that, I got a really really nice OLED model thanks to it.

Pretty much.
Going to a "physical" store would be the best option.
That's what I actually planned to do. I know someone selling a psvita too. He actually offered it to me a couple of weeks ago. I'll try to see if he still has it.

Can't hurt to ask if it still has 3.60.

Oh definitely even lower than that, because the console was unused. But yeah asking won't hurt haha :P

Also, if it's an OLED model.
A good way to test it if it doesn't have weird blotches and what not is to but an "almost black" image on the webbrowser.
OLEDs suffer from degradation unfortunately.

Is OLED better than the other model? Or is it just like the TN vs IPS 3DS screens? I won't mind as long as it works.

2k Vita has IPS LCDs.
The only real difference between OLED and LCD is that black truly is black on an OLED screen.
The individual pixels actually shut down when the screen is black, rather then LCD, which always retains the back lighting on a black image.
The contrast on an OLED is also much more superior then on an LCD.
Infact, OLED is the closest we came to real life colour display on screens.

If you compare them side by side, the 1k and 2k Vita, it's "hard" to tell them apart.

I would go with the new slim model. The screen is not as good as Oled but you get an extra hour of
battery life, better ergonomics,it's lighter, comes in cool colors and it has a standard micro USB power
cable as opposed to proprietary shit.

I'm bumping this thread because I have another question.

The Vita I've got is activated, and running under the previous owner's PSN. I want to log on mine, but I can't.

Do I have to format the console and start over? There's literally nothing on it, so I won't mind.

Buy fast! Avoid scalpers. You know it will happen with the sudden vitamin release and backups are now a thing. DO NOT WAIT TOO LONG! :(

I had a ps vita and pstv before it was cool. In 2014. The pstv with 8 GB memory card and 1 GB internal storage, with free ps3 controller and a Download game for some lego movie. (Never used it but wonder if it expired)

I had a vita since the one year anniversary sale from PS store and sweet discounts, with 32 GB memory card. If you plan on buying lots of digital games i recommend go as big as you can and get 64GB. You will regret not having it if you don't. Unless you buy retail games. Then it wouldn't be much of a issues. But seeing as is possible people will use it for back ups and homebrew, then i think 64 is still the thing.

You want my advice? Buy a system as soon as possible, and avoid scalpers who will overcharge for it in future. :(
The memory card may be a minor problem compared to paying over 200$ for the system and somewhere under 100$ for memory card.
