if you're using a9lh just delete your arm9loaderhax.bin file and replace with the new one.
if using menuhax, delete the Luma3DS folder inside the 3ds folder and replace with the new files in the ZIP as well as the Luma3DS.dat in the root of the SD

ik I did that but dosent it say like restart your ds with a bunch of other options, or does it automatically install.

Here's a QR code for Luma Updater if you want to scan it with FBI to install the app to handle this.

personally, I prefer StarUpdater for its automatic /arm9loaderhax_si.bin support (which was actually added by me but oh well:P). Before, I used Luma Updater for its cool 3d banner, but yeah.

Personally, I'm less of a fan just because it's Lua, but I've got a QR code for that one as well. This one tracks the latest StarUpdater release.

I still dunno what that is or means.
Before Luma3DS added functionality to turn on the backlight, you had to have it done by the A9LH installed into the NAND.... The hack was to have the name be what determined if you wanted the backlight on or not (for displaying splash screens, usually) Now you can just have Luma handle the screen init before it chain loads the next payload.

Yeah, if you're not using a splash screen and you don't want it to do that, you can use SafeA9LHinstaller to switch to one of the A9LH hacks that doesn't automatically init the backlight, and then you'll get a startup that looks exactly like stock unless you need it. I'm personally running on this build which also handles booting without the SD card.

Personally, the reason why I prefer it is because it is Lua, thus being easy to modify.
