My ACNL data got corrupted. Is there any way I could edit it to maybe fix this?

I think once it's corrupted there's not a whole lot you can do. What did you do to your data?

I had cheats enabled and went online and I got a haircut and when I left it disconnected me and said my data was corrupt. But now it looks like it's working?? I'll backup my saves more often now.

I have the arm9loaderhack installed. What do I have to do when there is a system update from Nintendo. Can I update it directly or do I have to do something before that?

Check here on temp before you update. If someone official/highly respected says it's okay and safe to update, then you can update. If they say not to update, then do not update. If it is safe to update, all you should have to do is go to System Settings and update from there.

***URGENT***I had previously attempted to get luma3ds by doing the whole thing with emunand and plaisysupdater(I think that's what it's called) and I kept on getting an error saying something about the am:u not being in service try again:x and I just came to the conclusion that I need to hardwood it is this true and if not can you explain to me what I had done wrong that would I appreciate any help given (I'm running On the old3ds 11.0 menuhax 1.10)

Follow link above. You have to either do a hardmod or have a second 3DS with CFW to do the DSiWareHax.

Get a second 3DS, hack it, then you can use it to downgrade the 11.0 one.
It's either that or send away for a hardmod. There is probably a Canadian hardmodder, or you can send it to vb_encryption_vb in the US.

Well I'll just wait for an easier exploit to come out one day thanks for the help

Hate to break it to you, but exploit research is slowly coming to a stop as there are plenty of options to choose from, allready. There are probably still some exploits being worked on but with decreasing demand comes decreasing activity...

You should install a CFW instead. But sadly the 11.0 version of the 3ds firmware can't be downgraded right now. You either wait or you downgrade it using the dsi downgrade method. But if you don't know what you're doing, I wouldn't recommend it

Try not to use HBMenu, and use YSMenu instead.
