RiiConnect24 have been hard at work creating a News Channel that works (since September 2015!), and they are happy to announce that a beta version now exists. One can access it via their regular Wii; they merely require the RiiConnect24 DNS of 185.82.21.64 and the custom IOS31 from them.

The custom IOS31 is merely required, as the original WiiConnect24 key couldn't be used (unless someone here can extract it from Nintendo ), and we'd rather set our own key rather than make a custom channel, with all the issues that entailed. Other than that and the DNS, it runs the exact same way as the original News Channel

They have noted that sometimes stories could have incorrect formatting, and some errors on file load (the files are made hourly so if it breaks check again in an hour), and does not have globe location or imagery yet, but these are merely teething problems.

I keep getting Error Code 107245 on both the News and Forecast Channels. Am I doing something horribly wrong? I patched IOS31, I entered the proper primary and secondary DNSes, and I accepted the EULA. I've tried waiting and trying again every hour or so, but I've still got nothing.

I did see the proper altered EULA and everything...

I'm wondering if I might've botched the IOS31 patch somehow?

You need to run the IOS Patch or else you would get this.

So I definitely think I must be messing something up with the patcher. Whenever I run the IOS31 patcher after following the directions, this is what I see in Terminal:

After revive these nostalgic news, forecast and Everybody Votes Channels... Wii users only pray for more one thing: A Hacked or a New internet browser (could be a port of a opensourced web browser) with better flash support/video support, simply acesses to sd to make some simple download and with no annoyng advices during loading any website.

EDIT: I ended up getting someone to patch IOS31 on Windows, so I was able to get things running that way. Either way, once you do have a fix, I'd be happy to test it on 10.7.5 to make sure it works properly. Thanks again!
