Homebrew Got wiiflow now what? Can't play wii game from USB

Hello everyone! Been looking for help forever online and finally found this site which seems to be the only live forums about these topics.

I've been wanting to download some wii games and use wii flow to play them specifically some Japanese ones, I had some trouble getting wii flow to work with the cios and etc. But found a good guide on that and got that done.

I have a USB that is(?) Formatted to wjsb or something similar. And have an iso to a Japanese cartoon wii game sitting in a folder waiting to be played. Now what exactly do I do, or did wrong.

I start up wii flow and it just loads my channels (MiI channel, check mii out, etc) I would like to eventually play wii games, gamecube digitally no disc etc.

I'm not very good at all with these type of things so the fact that I got even this far is impressive for me. If you guys know where I went wrong or have any guides or a pack of files that just has everything on it to help set this up with maybe a drag/drop or something?

First, you're using the WBFS partition format on your USB; it's good for game playing as it doesnt fragment, but it does mean you have to use tools to copy the ISO/WBFS to the partition (there are also WBFS files which are used by backup launchers - they're just ISO rips of the game with some padding removed - MKW can get to about 2.4GB in WBFS vs 4.3GB).

I'd also suggest using USB Loader GX, but that's just me

I'm really sorry, I don't exactly know anything of what you mentioned. I've seen the terms quite heavily before but have no clue. The guide that you posted I have followed before and that's how I got Wii Flow to even work. It use to freeze on me now it just loads properly. What is the USB loader and you suggest reformatting my usb?

So you'd suggest downloading mii backup? I thought I had it but found out it was only Hackmii instead. EDIT: also transferring the game, would that be done within mii back up?

Sorry for all the questions. I downloaded and ran the program. And then clicked add, file, and selected the bunch of files that I had. I'm currently transferring the files to an ISO. (one out off 4 options) Once I get there I'm kind of at a wall. I'm not sure what to do next. Do I just throw the file on my USB? I'm not sure what exactly I'm doing. Is there a step by step guide somewhere?

No no no. You set your drive in the Drive 1 tab. then you go back to Files, and pick Transfer->To Drive 1.

Okay I'll try that it didn't give me much to do I'll mess with it some more, but I guess I'm missing something for the USB Loader. I'm not getting anything to recognize my USB with the USB Loader GX.

Some drives just won't work for USB loading, make sure you're using d2x cIOS v8 or v10 beta52 (not beta53), and have base 56 in slot 249 and base 57 in slot 250 (if you're unsure about that, post a sysCheck: https://gbatemp.net/threads/posting-a-system-check.300279/ ) and that the drive is plugged in the bottom port (the side closest to the rubber feet)
You might have to pick the right game partition in WiiFlow for it to display your games. It should ask you to the first time you launch it, but if it didn't, go to the settings and select it manually. Also make sure it's set to display Wii games, there is a menu where you can pick whether to display channels, wii games, gc games, emulators etc.

I apologize for all my questions, thank you for listening!! I am using a 4.0 GB flash drive. I found a compatibility list online and it is one that works. 4.0 GB Sandisk Cruzer. I switched all my CIOS/IOS and did that whole tutorial. I did that so my wii flow would even load. My Wii is standing up, which USB port? Left or Right? I just reformatted my USB to FAT something. Im not sure exactly what a partition is, Wii Flow never asked anything for a partition. However my wii flow only shows channels, I didn't know there was a place to change that, changing it now. Thank you!

Format it to FAT32 32kb cluster size. (if your formatter doesn't give you a cluster size google guiformat.)

Well also and this is just my personal opinion not a fact but I prefer to use CFG USB Loader over Wiiflow. If you continue to have trouble try that.

If I have anymore trouble I'll try that. Honestly all I want to do is emulate wii games (Wii ware, gamecube, etc) to where I can download a whole pack of them or just find iso's of game and drop them in a folder and boom there is the game. Idk why I'm having such a hard time with this, I'm totally new to this all.

You should get Nintendont for Gamecube games, there's also a custom cfg usb loader that lets you load nintendont with wii games somewhere but I don't have the link anymore.

I tried doing the formatting for the USB and have the game in the correct folders wit the Wii Backup thing. Nothing works and the USB can't be detected. I got ahold off my friend and hopefully tonight he may know whats up.

Wiiflow or CFG USB Loader?

I had trouble with Wiiflow when I first started and used CFG instead so I can't really help you with Wiiflow, but if you're saying you're also having trouble with CFG too just go into settings and change it to usb. If it still doesn't work I'm not sure.
