its my gf's first time installing menuhax... there no "old" one

Here, this is where all the revisions and patches for updates come from, and is by yellows8
If you have menuhax 3.0 and have any issues, then use the issues page to report them as long as you have github account or just maybe ask someone who does.

Be sure to be as specific as you can and remember to tell which version you used.

Also use same page to check for already reported errors and solutions before submitting new ones. But you may want to try reinstalling it again to be sure.

Delete the menuhax folder on your sd card. Go to home menu and change your theme at least twice, last time being default them, then try the install again. Remember using 3.0

Is the wifi connected with internet access?

It should download any necessary files by default.
