im TOTALLY 100% new to PS Vita scene, and since i just heard that Henkaku got released, im not 100% sure what does this stand for, as in terms of "Future Releases".

i do know that this opens the door for homebrew aka emulators and stuff. but what about later releases from PSP or even better, PS Vita ISO/Games Loading?

Do we need a different access point, as a Kernel Exploit? or this can be achieved with Henkaku Release?

PSP iso loading becomes possible with an ePSP kernel exploit.
Vita "backup" loading becomes possible with a Vita kernel exploit.

The first is easy and I don't think it'll take more than a couple weeks, but the second is much harder and I don't think there's the will for it.

The best possible answer anyone can answer, really, is that we just don't know.

For PSP games, we'd still need to find ePSP kernel exploits in order to get full PSP loading done which will still require PSP software (AFAIK). Henkaku would make it easier to transfer the exploited save, but other than that (AFAIK) it by itself couldn't do much here on it's own.

For Vita loading...well, we don't know (again, AFAIK) what kind of exploit exactly Henkaku is. The team that released it provided no real in depth information, instead challenging others to work it out for themselves. Could this lead to full blown Vita piracy? Maybe. Will it be anytime soon? Probably not.

Honestly I couldn't careless about vita backup loading. Working emulators with psp and psx support is perfect lol We will need a bigger breakthough then Henkaku, and I doubt we will see one soon

I honestly ask this, due the fact that people get excited to be able to run snes/nes games on the vite, i know its awsome, trust me, been there, but.. seeing also that the Snes and Nes can be emulated and or ported to almost every handheld and home console, its just...make 0 sense to grab a PsVita just to play nes and snes again, having a 3ds, xperia play, and hella alot of devices that do the job, including a PS3, a Xbox 360 and hell, even a dreamcast, thus that last work sucks for emulating lol.

As mentioned before a kernel exploit would be needed. The main executable file is highly encrypted and jack shit can be done while it is encrypted. Honestly I hope it says that way, the last thing the vita needs is game piracy to become a thing because that would most likely push away third party developers and screw over people who bought a vita and buy games for the vita to support the devs. I will admit I have spend a good 350 dollars on playstation vita games and they were worth every single cent.
The people who only care about free games are going to be the people who kill it for everyone else if and when piracy happens tbh.

I'm surprised there hasn't been a new epsp release yet actually, figured someone would have something in reserve for when something like henkaku happened.

i respect your choice and opinion, however, not all people can buy/afford retail games, and tbh not much ps vita games relly triggers me to buy 1, the only one could be Risk Of Rain, which i loved on the PC, and played it for HOURS. easily, 200+. and its a cheap games 10 bucks on the store. but yeah, in my opinion, ISO loading would be nice.

Give it some times, if the ePSP can be done with Henkaku, time its just the barrier. not quite sure about the PS Vita Native tough.

Well for me it's because of these reasons: It's portable (so throw PS3, Xbox 360 and Dreamcast out), It runs better then the 3ds so that's out, it has buttons so mobile phones are out and it has a gorgeous screen so xperia play is out. Plus quick resume is sexy as hell lol xD

Sadly, there are bigger android devices that can do the job, as almost lall the JXD devices, or even the new GPD consoles.

Not being able to afford stuff doesn't really work as a valid excuse. I mean heck I rarely have money to buy vita games but I still do buy them because I want to show my support. You might not like a bunch of games on the system but other people DO and by pirating them you're beginning to push away third party developers denying other owners from getting other games in future as developers may just pull out entirely due to piracy. It might be convenient for you but it can spoil it for everyone else so remember that

Yes i am still waiting for my PSO2 Game to be available. But I understand and can see the concern of buying new consoles with lack of support. Best thing to do is not make hasty decisions or bad ones, that will just cause gaming to end as a whole.

Don't buy consoles and games for sole purpose of exploits or hacks. Buy it cause you support it and want it, like it and to see more in future. Is simple to don't buy what you don't like and don't support cause it shows people the developers what we don't want done and what we do want done.

This this 100% this. I'm not against the concept of homebrew. I mean, translation patches could finally be a thing which is awesome! But what I am against is people who just buy a vita for the sole reason of exploiting it and pirating everything as that can end up triggering a domino effect which causes vita devs and publishers to not see it as a viable platform anymore due to high piracy and stop releasing games for it.

I totally see your point =] but I'm not much into mobile phones for gaming. I'd rather carry a dedicated portable console that can also play everything else as well and form factor is a big part of that. But I can see why you would want vita backups. I already own like 95% of the vita games out there so I really have no need for it. I used my psp for yearrrrrrrrs so its about time to take it out back and put it out of its misery haha

Yes, yes it does. Lots of games actually if you took a second to educate yourself and look around the playstation store.

Hell those are the upcoming games for the vita over the next month! That's quite a few titles.

I'd love to have Vita & PSP iso loading too...but that would be all for my retail Vita/PSP cards/UMDs. I hold no illusions that the majority would be of the same mind. That's why we can't have nice things.

Yeah cross reference that sorry list with 3ds and you'll see what i mean. Gal gun? Hatsune Miku? Sengoku what? Dynasty Warriors 172? No thanks. I'm not saying Vita has no games at all, I've played a good hand full of them. But take away ports, remakes and indie games and your left with like 5 games... and only 3 are good lol

Dude, what the hell are you smoking? Like seriously that has got to be some heavy shit if you think that there are only 3 good vita games. Stop being delusional

One thing that just occurred to me.... The sound on the 2600 sucked less back then the harsh sound we hear now is from infinitely better speakers we have now, back when the 2600 was new speakers produced a almost muffled sound, like CRTs made old graphics look slightly better.

I wonder if I could recommend that to some emulation devs that perhaps the sound could use some smoothing out to simulate those old TVs

I think a few of the early systems could benefit from that, at least up to the 8 bit generation, by the 16 bit generation I think TVs had gotten a lot better in almost every way
