I am an old 4.5 o3ds user, with a gateway card. I have been wanting gba support for a long while but haven't been willing to do all the extra steps to access gba thus far. Does the new 4.1 gateway firmware actually help in this regard at all or is it still a kind of complicated mess to get gba setup?

The fact is I'm willing to put in some effort to get gba, but only so much. I dont want to accidentally lose my emunand(saves, installed cia's etc) just to get gba support. Does gateway basically require 9.2 nowadays to get gba?

If someone can link me a guide that actually explains how to 1- keep my emunand, 2- get gba support, and 3- allows installing cia files, then I would be appreciative. I honestly don't care if it has red card support or not, I literally only use cia's anyways.

It seems lum3ds is the best cfw, but I'm unsure what boot managers are, as I've always used the settings exploit. I honestly have no issues using it, and typically when I'm actually playing my 3ds never turn it off, so never have to use an exploit more than once, hence why I didnt care about boot success and other nonesense like that.

Follow this guide from Part 4: Getting OTP to the end of Part 5.
And you can have everything you want (except emuNAND) :)

So I will lose emunand in order to achieve what I want? If so, does this somehow bypass the issues of accidental updating, or does this somehow work on all future versions? The main thing I liked about emunand was I could screw it up and not worry too much, as well as could update it to live FW without issues.

You can flash emuNAND to sysNAND once you're done, and you can update to the latest firmware. a9lh is pretty hard to destroy with a FW update if your CFW prevents NFIRM from being updated.

I know people around here hate gateway, but as mentioned, if I can do it via gateway- which I'd guess is easier to do, I'd love to do it that way if possible. Easy is the key, and the lowest chance to mess up my saves/installs- which typically means least steps. Otherwise, id rather just stay where I am, and not play gba games, I really only have a few I want to play as is, and none desperately. I also have no need for any of the various features that may get unlocked from various cfw. Honestly I really like the implementation of the gateway cheat system, so that's about the only feature I'd like to keep. Gateways lack of gba support is literally my only complaint.

A. Please use the stickied noob help thread, there are dozens of threads being made like yours every day and it just gets old...
B. There is a way to use A9LH with Gateway, they supply an arm9loaderhax.bin that's compatible with the traditional A9LH install and not their crappy locked-down version, which they made by stealing code and calling it their own.
