NX is a portable/console hybrid according to reliable sources. It will replace 3ds/wiiU.

Yes, New3ds will play DS carts. NX almost certainly won't (unless re-bought from NXshop presumably).

They are supported, the slot is especially made with a little piece of plastic that differs 3ds from ds cartridges
