I have a Hori Battlepad as my GC controller with Nintendont. But moving Mario in this game feels like he's on ice everytime. What's the best controller to play this game as easily as Super Mario 64/64 DS?

If you wanna control this game like sm64ds, then play it with an Atari 5200 controller.
But really, just buy a GameCube controller and be done with it.

Wavebird is always the right answer when asking best controller for gamecube. Wireless FTW.

Edit: didn't realize I was posting in a thread from 2 weeks ago, oops.

Uh, no. Wired controllers are better due to the lack of wireless lag, which is absolutely essential in games like Melee.

I'll conceed that point to you I don't remember it having lag on the gamecube itself but apparently it does on the wii for some reason.

Original Gamecube controller, easily. If you want the best original experience, go for that controller

If you're going to say that wireless lag is bad enough to make you need a wired controller, you should tell him to buy a CRT TV too to minimize the video lag. I think wireless would be good enough to play casual melee and to play Super Mario Sunshine with.

Yeah, I actually tried a WaveBird on my Wii U. It's shit. I took it back and bought a Smash edition controller.

It wasn't meant for Wii U yeah I know they made an adapter but that wasn't originally what it was meant for. It was awesome on the gamecube.

Oh so the triggers are the reason that happens...
And... how can I use the less water as possible in the game? Seems that it needs a lot of water and during boss battles I almost don't have water because of the previous jumps
Analog triggers. Push down a little to be able to still walk and run while spraying.

Can't get an official? Get a Cirka. Easy to open (for painting or adding support for turbo buttons) and cheap. Same features as an official controller (minus the turbo button support)
