ROM Hack List of GBC Games with GBA Enhance feature.

So recently (About 2 days ago at time of writing) I was bored and i wanted something to do, I noticed there was GBC games on nintendo eshop that do not make use of the GBA ENHANCED feature cause it is emulating GBC system console, So i decided to do something about it, and i did.

Enter the idea of playing shantae on Virtual console with gba enhanced.


As you can see this is virtual console Shantae gameboy color game with the GBA ENHANCE Feature. It works as in the picture is not fake as i took the picture with my camera is a new 3ds xl.

What i want to do is make a list of all GBA ENHANCED Games that is available on the Nintendo eshop. So that i may test them out. So far only 4 games i am aware of.

Shantae
Megaman Xtreme 2
Legend of Zelda Oracle of Ages/Seasons.

Notice how all four of them had capcom involved with the publishing of those games, which could be coincedence.
So if there are any other games besides these four on nintendo eshop that gets benefits for being on GBA then please list them.

To know if they get any GBA enhance, check the box of the game.
The top right corner of the back of the game box should have mentioned playing it on GBA as shown below on oracle of ages box.
Also, if you played the game before, there should be some clues hinting at things like "Advance" And such.
Final clue should be a altered color scheme for the game. The color is noticably different, even slightly brighter when played on GBA than on GBC.

Have you got any proof, other than a photo? A video would be helpful, but sharing your files/code would be amazing.

I have no way to record gameplay using a camera while playing the game, is not possible. Also if the picture isn't enough proof for you, i am sorry about that. I took a pucture of my 3ds screen with the 3ds touch screen displaying the message for virtual console to show what i intended. it is running on virtual console and not any homebrew.

What kind of video proof you asking for?

Okay, then perhaps you can do the video proof he wants after i teach you to fix the rom.

I used a hex editor on the rom and altered some addresses and rebuild the cia to be installed on the system.

Wow, this is fantastic. At least now we'll be able to get the GBA ring in the Zelda Oracle games without using a password got in the game played on a GBA (or editing a password).

These so called enhancements were just a gimmick to make people think the games would be somehow better on a GBA. In reality, Shantae gets a palette swap to accommodate the GBA screen, and a Tinkerbat transformation as a bonus. Since the enhanced mode doesn't rely on GBA hardware in any way, other than the detection process, obviously, it can easily be forced by patching the ROM, making the enhancements available on anything that can play the patched ROM, including the GBC itself.

Yeah, you are correct, to me is not really a necessity or big deal.

I'm not sure how to change ASM registers or convert the data given to an offset in the ROM file. How about which address and offsets in HEX and the value to change them to?

Values at address 00000030 And 00000102.

All of the information needed is present in the post I linked. You should have read it instead of asking. The author even lists what values you need to put in to force the GBC mode on GBA. The offset is listed as well, of course.
