hi, new here, and new to the wii.
So i buy an used wii for the kids, the seller said it was chiped.

It has a channel with the neogamma and from there i can launch games from the usb (success with mario something wii and just dance).

But i want the homebrew so i can install some apps to watch youtube, movies, music, maybe netflix.

i went to https://please.hackmii.com/ and copy the files to an sd (tried with 2 microSD with adapter < 2gb fat32)
triple chekd MAC... and version and region

go to mensagge board, click on red mail with bomb...

but it always stuck on the spam notice. "this software must not be sold..." and the "press 1 to continue" never appears.

any hints?

thanks.

more info:

in wii config it says 4.3U

when i test wifi conection it ask me to update the wii. (same when i go to the store channel) should i update? i thought 4.3 was the last version.

i didnt update because i really dont want to lose the neogamma channel, since from there i can run games from usb pendrive.

i googled a lot. but the things i found didnt work for me.

No do not update the Wii VIA Sys Menu Update. That may either brick your Wii, or have it survive (barley.)

You may be getting the issue from the Modchip. That's really the only issue that seems to be getting in the way with LetterBomb. I think ModMii could probably uninstall ModChip Files on the Wii completely, but do not take my word for it.

Edit: Also I don't have time to check the Compatibillity list at the moment. You can see a compatible list of Homebrew SD Cards for the Wii. http://www.wiibrew.org/wiki/SD/SDHC_Card_Compatibility_Tests

Updating by the system menu won't brick your Wii unless you've done something really weird to it already. You can just update then reinstall the HBC and cIOSes if necessary.

Nothing to do with the scam notice sticking, though. That's usually either a problem with the SD card or an IOS.

You need an SD card for the HackMii installer to work. SDXC doesn't work and SDHC may or may not.

Since your on 4.3 Firmware with the SysMenu update you will have to use an alternative exploit to run Homebrew. Most use a game, Letterbomb will not work if you have firmware version 4.3 WITH the system menu update.

http://wiibrew.org/wiki/Homebrew_setup

The game exploits basically use the same method of running the Homebrew installer but instead of having to run it with a program on the SysMenu it's done with a game (Such as IndianaPwns, or SmashStack.) That trick the game into reading the SD Card/Homebrew Exploit.

I haven't used any of the above exploits. Only Letterbomb, so you might want to do some research on figuring out which method may be the best for hacking your Wii. Depending on how popular the game was, and how long it was produced these games can either range from really cheap, or a lot of money IF they are not produced anymore.
Edit: Assuming you did already update your Wii with the SysMenu Update.

Incorrect. Letterbomb only works with 4.3.

No, Bannerbomb works on <4.3. Letterbomb is for 4.3. These are the discless exploits.

Game exploits work depending on the current system menu version.

Well I'm not an expert but he may now be getting an issue from Letterbomb since he is on 4.3 Firmware with the Sys Update which is where I think the main issue is coming from

At this rate I think the issue is just coming from an interpretation that it does not work. I don't want to mislead the OP of the thread, try running Letterbomb Exploit again and wait about 10 - 30 mins on the screen if it's not letting you continue its likely it does not work since it's supposed to take minimum 1 - 2 mins to appear.

But since your booting the exploit up just fine it may be your SD Card. If it were an IOS it would probably not boot into the exploit screen at all.

Also what Wii are you using? Mini Wii, White Wii, or Black Wii?

"4.3 Firmware" with "Sys Update"? You seem to be confusing things. There is no separate "sys update" versus "4.3 Firmware". Letterbomb should work on *all* 4.3 Wiis.

The NeoGamma channel is installed, but not Homebrew Channel? Seems odd that the previous owner would remove HBC...

Anyways, if Letterbomb still isn't working, your best bet is probably something like Smash Stack. Note that Smash Bros. doesn't support SDHC cards, so you'll need an old 1GB or 2GB SD card.

white wii

if the wii is chipped as the seller said... should those game exploits (for the homebrew) work with copy games (dvd or usb)???
I'm not sure but they likely will work.

The exploit is likely not working becuase the Wii is chipped. Are you able to remove the chip, or unchip it safely?

Edit: Also I mentioned different exploits becuase I did not know whether or not you updated your Wii, or not. But in case you have not you can still use the Letterbomb exploit.

There's probably an old or patched IOS that's preventing the installer from working. If it was my console I'd just updated it from the system menu then mod it. Official updates don't remove anything that can't be replaced.

I don't see why a drivechip would prevent Letterbomb from working, since that doesn't require using the disc drive at all.
Well if you think about it. It could be an issue with the Wii not communicating correctly which files to load off the SD, or the path may be blocked.

But again I'm not a technician expert. I normally like to test the simple things first on why it may not be working, then once I got everything clear I can move onto methods that involve updating, different exploits, so fourth.

Edit: ModMii could probably fix this issue becuase to me it sounds like it's an issue with the IOS's. He's already tested multiple SD Cards, and it could be the chip, or the IOS's (Most likely the IOS's.). Wolf has said to update the Wii without using an official update (Nintendo Update I am assuming.) And instead use an alternative method for updating.

No, I didn't. I said I'd to update through the system menu to the latest version then mod it. The official update only replaces a few things, stubs IOS249 and removes the old HBC if it exists. It takes about 30 seconds to replace them afterwards.

you have an unofficial or motion plus wiimote...
is not a motion plus...
it looks original... it is white, has the wii logo at the bottom, and nintendo in plastic, as part of the controller (sorry English second language) on the bottom back.
