Hi, I am getting to the point where my SD card is starting to run out of space, so I was going to delete some games I already beaten that are taking up space.

i would like to keep the saves though; it looks like if you uninstall a game it deletes the saves too (WTF NINTENDO?)

I know I can use savdata filer and all that, but that seems really easy to mess up and you wont know you messed up until a year later you try to restore the save.

I know you can backup the entire SDcard, but that seems really inefficient considering the amount of space it would take up for a save that is a fraction of a megabyte.

So is there a desktop app that can browse SD card and translate it to english (there is a database of all games right with weird DSHFO435345SFJS names that nintendo uses?), so then I can just select the things I want to backup (saves)?

Thanks!

You can just use SDF and everything is backed up with their title ID and a date so you know when you backed it up.

I have to back up stuff individually? And its all has garbled names right? Is there a way to backup just saves for everything?

While I don't see how it's surprising that deleting your game also deletes the data attached to it...

Your only options are to
a) Use Nintendo's Save Data Backup tool
b) Use SDF, or JKSM
c) back up the entire SD. Which if you're into hacking, you're gonna want at least one back up anyway.

With JKSV you can manually set the name and date of the folder for your save game so you don't have the title ID as names.

Yes and no. Yes individually, and no the name is not garbled. As I stated, games are identified by their number ID and a date backed up.
