after finally getting around to replacing the batteries i just sold all the old pokemon games ive amassed over the years on ebay.
7 pokemon emerald. 5 ruby, 4 sapphire.
the guy that bought the 4 sapphire said they were fake and he needed to return them, two days after i sent him an angry reply he apologized and said he must have been confused and has come to the conclusion that they were in fact real.
the girl who bought one of the rubies on the other hand. well...just a angry and stupid person
Reason for return

"This is not a authentic Pokemon Ruby game. In your pictures it was authentic but what I received wasn t"
after i messaged her telling her that it was in fact real.
"Excuse me I know an authentic game when I see one and this one is most certainly not."
"Maybe you should look up a comparison video to educate yourself."
"I will send you your game back and request A FULL REFUND. If not, I will contact eBay."

Idiots can't be helped.

Just deal with it, and move on, I guess :/

That really sucks though. Try asking them why they think it's a fake, I guess? Then they'll give a reason and you could at least attempt to tell them it's real by using their "proof" against them.

But, I mean, I don't know
I don't sell on eBay sooooo ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

There's nothing much you can do about.
Seems that Ebay is littered with people who like to rip off others.
It's disgusting.

That's not entirely true.
There are quite a few things I've bought of of eBay a long time ago that I still own and use to this day.
Now, I'm not disagreeing with you completely, as there are people on eBay that just want to take your money, and that can't be helped because humans are the absolute worst species to ever exist

Easy fix: don't use ebay, even graigslist isn't filled with jackasses like that...

i've got scammed far too many times on ebay to count, most from "legit" sellers

There's nothing you can really do about it. Just sell those games locally if you can.

I've used Ebay many many times and haven't had in particular problems with it. There are a whole ton of sellers on it. Just find sellers that seem reliable and check for feedback.

Yeah i agree, i started to hate ebay, few months ago, i ordered a audio splitter for $20 and i had a problem with it for 2 months, I paid for the product and got a tracking number, But they never shipped the item, so i got my refund and ordered somewhere else. Plus i hate bids, so there is that, 2 months i had that situation. But i got refund. The thing is Ebay has protected buyer money back garuntee so if buyer has any complaints and contact ebay, the are valid to get refund regardless if seller cooperate or not. But i just be more careful now, i read seller reputation and buyer comments.

Also we have to remember that we all have haters on the internet. I even made a few here on GBATemp. ^_^

HATERS GONNA HATE.:creep:
Not much you can do except stay away from them. I know is hard but not impossible. Trust me, i had bullies, and they have no reasons to hate on me, they hate everything.

Don't be a prick

We can't know for 100% certain that they were real but unless you want to buy one don't assume they're fakes, and just take his word for it

I fear you missed the sarcasm there.

As for the question of the OP I have no answer. I have never bothered with ebay personally and tend to discourage people from going there for anything they really care about, I have no real alternatives outside of find people in the real world (though you can certainly use online to aide that).

Than were is he going to sell them? If people don't want to buy them locally he is going to have to sell them to a gameExchange or Gamestop (if they even take them) for a very low price. Ebay can be a bad place but that isn't a reason not to use it. Use common sense.

pretty sure there is a option to not allow buyers who have had more than "x" return in the past 3 months that filters most of the jerks who go around buying stuff and returning it compulsively (yeah there are people who do it seemingly as a sport and will return nearly everything they buy either to swap it for fakes/faulty good, or just being dumb and get hit with buyers remorse and just find excuses to return it)

EDIT: actually i just looked and it seems they only allow you to block people who win listings and not pay, rather than prolific refunders, might be worth waiting for the case to go to ebay/paypal if the person has a history of demanding refunds and you can prove that the game was genuine they should side with you.

This place has selling forums and many pokemon communities will too, facebook often has selling groups for an area or more specialised things, depending upon where you are in the world there are free selling sites like gumtree and craigslist, there are other auction sites (If I speak to those living in the Netherlands they tend to want to link me to http://www.marktplaats.nl/ when discussing such things, though ebay is probably the dominant one in the US), amazon will allow people to sell things on their platform, for the longest time it was the main revenue source of local papers, garage sales/flea markets/car boot sales and specialist markets (you get all sorts of retro markets these days) all exist still. To say ebay and the big shops are your only choices is quite far from accurate, possibly to the point of being against the common sense you speak of.

How many of those are good for the OP, good for these items and good for whatever else I genuinely do not know. I tend not to sell things at all other than labour as it is too much of a hassle (I would rather take time out of my day to go to the dump than deal with people on ebay) but it is still an option for some so it might be here.

The average person is an idiot, so by selling 16 items and only dealing with two idiots you're on the right side of the bell curve. Congrats!

Though that would be true if you are dealing with everybody on a level playing field it has been observed that you can have someone invest something in the first place; nobody is going to ban me from my living room so I can be a yelling drunk there all I like, I do that down the pub and I get asked never to come back and thus I have some incentive to not be an idiot. With such a buyer focused (well ebay focused first of all but second buyers and in distant third the advertisers and then probably just the visitors and then the sellers) arrangement ebay is then less than what it could be elsewhere.
You do have to walk the line between usability and security though so while getting everybody to pay in a "$5000 or significant percentage of selling/buying fee, whichever is greater, don't be a cunt" insurance deposit would probably improve the discourse and experience no end it would also be reflected in the range available so eh. It might also cut down on the clueless people selling things (I see it often in tools when something looks superficially like, or is mistaken for, a far more common thing and thus people miss it or underprice it) but that is a slightly different discussion.
