If you use sysnand CFW you can play GBA games without issues. If you use emunand GBA games will boot to sysnand after closing the game to be able to save.
There is no reason for the average user to use emunand anymore.

Emunand provides better protection from updates and is safer even with a9lh, so yes there is reason. I don't, but still.

How does emunand provide better protection from updates? Firm0/1 are blocked from being written, it doesn't give any advantage when it comes to protection.

True, but it's still possible that Nintendo could find a way to get around it. With emunand nothing ever touches your sysnand so no matter what happens, updates or otherwise, it's recoverable.

Thats bullshit and you have no proof to back that claim up. Even if Nintendo would take action they would do it at the root, they would overwrite the stage loaders and get rid of a9lh. If that happens it wouldn't even matter if you have emu or sysnand. And I'm pretty sure Nintendo is not able to touch it.

Then again Ninty could find a way to update your SysNAND while in EmuNAND. It's already possible with that update nag on EmuNAND.

GBA is possible on emunand
however if you exit the game the system will force reboot to sysnand in order to save the game.
