You don't need to 2rxsa version of OTPHelper anymore if you're using the right guide (you're using SafeA9lhInstaller now). Also, it is included in the release archive. To build it, you 'make release' or 'make oldspider'.

And no, it is not identical. :)
Yup! I do know I don't need it anymore... I'm using SA9LH installer 2.02 but decided to venture on modifying and compiling it myself... for "science" purposes only :P AHhAHAHAH

Thx for the tip on making the arm9.bin!

On my cousin's 3DS it just flashes red twice then goes back to the homebrew launcher every time
What firmware is their 3ds? If you are above 9.2 the app will not boot as a 3dsx file via HBL, even with exploits like a9lh. If you have a9lh you can use the bin file and either chainload from luma or use a boot manager, or if you don't have a9lh you won't be able to use it on any firmware above 9.2 (including running from an updated emuNAND on a 9.2 sysNAND 3ds)

Today I did a9lh on my old 3ds and 2ds. They both previously downgraded from 11 with an hardmod to 9.2J by a friend (I found it a bit strange because I did my new 3ds before from 10.7 and it only downgrade to 9.1J).

The 2DS went smoothly and now fully a9lhed, but my old 3DS always failed at One Click Setup. I tried doing what Plailect guide said about Stage 1&2 failed (restored sysnand_original and emunand_formatted and continue part 4 Section IV Step 9) but the error just keep occurred. Does anyone know how to fix it?

what custom firmware are you using while downgrading the emu/rednand to 2.1?

hmm..it is strange.
On my first 3DS, I could not downgrade to v2.1 before but copying the firmware.bin from step 5 of Plailect's Tutorial into luma folder solved the problem.

Now, on my second 3DS, I tried first without copying the firmware.bin and as expected it fail.
Then I copying the firmware.bin.
Now I cannot boot into REDNAND.

ANy suggestion?

Hello!

I have a problem that I cannot solve. I'm trying to install arm9loaderhax using Plailect guide from github. Right now i'm on part 4 and I need to create sysnand and emunand backups. I'm using default 4gb microsd card, guide says nothing about minimum required size, so I thougth default one should work. However I could not create sysnand backup, error about low space on sdcard (1888mb required). OtpHelper startup screen shows SD card zise 888/2432mb and that is very strange. My sdcard has 2 partitions, one of them for some nand (i don't know what is it, i'm newbie) has size 1230mb and another one that i can access through my PC and where all files for hacking has size 2432 AND 2201mb is FREE. I double checked card using several card readers, it realy has enough space for dump. But OTPHelper can see only 888 from 2201mb free space.

What I tried myself: I took another sdcard 32gb, created 1:1 clone, checked in 3ds, it works with same problem about low space. Than I used EaseUs partition master and increased partition size to all unallocated space. Guess what happened, OTPHelper now shows me that I have 0mb free space!

I also tried to drop this part of Plailect guide and setup rednand one more time from the beginning of third part. I formatted big sdcard, copied all files from small sdcard, but it did not worked. Menuhax is not working and I'm very very afraid to do something wrong now because it looks like I will break it for sure if I will continue with experiments on my own.

Looks like I wrote a little bit too much, I'm nervous. Basically, the only problem that stops me is that OTPHelper shows incorrect free space and does not allows me to create sysnand dump. Maybe something is wrong with file system.

Please help me anybody, I'm realy stuck on this.

So your 4gb SD card is showing an incorrect size/amount left? Could be fucked/fake.

Use the 32gb. Dont do a 1:1 copy. I dont know why you did that. Just format the 32gb for rednand, then copy everything over. Then Extract and inject your emunand with emunand tool.

Done

Is it possible to downgrade from a 3ds with 4.2-4.5 sysnand firmware running rxtools to 2.1 to get the OTP? Or do you need to update it to 9.2 first?

I used GodMode9 to check the hash of 0004009B00010602 tmd and indeed it doesn't match with the one listed here https://gist.github.com/Plailect/a6789c6a87a2eee575da (while all other tmd's do), I tried to downgrade 2-3 times and still got the same, but I found out that the 0004009B00010602 of the EU is different than the US and JP comparing them in HxD while Plailect's Sha256 list has the same hash for all the region of 0004009B00010602. Now, the question is, should I ignore the hash mismatch and go ahead downgrading sysNAND OR I should replace the EU 0004009B00010602 with the US/JP one? PlaiSysUpdater however, didn't find any mismatch and I believe that this is otphelper's bug but I'm not sure.

Thanks in advance!

Let's just assume you are right and a bug in OTPHelper is at fault... Let's also assume just one region is affected... With far over 100.000 downloads, how many people would be here (or elsewhere) to complain about this, instead of just you? Just do a Google search for 0004009B00010602, see how many results you get. I guess that answers it for you, right? ;) Also, you did compare the hashes, right? Maybe the hashes in the guide have a typo, but not the ones in OTPHelper, guaranteed.

As for solving this... you could take a look inside the hashes OTPHelper uses, but you will need a hex editor for this, see here: https://github.com/d0k3/OTPHelper/tree/master/data
Reinstalling that title (before downgrading, to EmuNAND!) could help, too. If that fails, I do hope someone else on here can give you more help for this.

I'm having an issue with OTP-helper. I run the launcher.dat to get OTP-helper to run, works fine for making NAND backups. But validating NAND or using the One Click Setup just hangs.

It displays this message (which I doubt is helpful but whatever):

Using emuNAND @ 1DD000/000000
NAND CID: 9E891616C52445443147324D00011500

Using latest version 0.9.

I haven't tried this more than three times, so maybe it's not always working? When it does work does it indicate that something is happening? First time running One Click Setup I waited an hour before turning the console of, thinking it would surely never boot again, but it had done nothing to sysNAND.

Edit: Tested 0.85 since I noticed that was latest stable. But same thing there.

This looks perfectly fine so far, and, no it should work everytime, not only sometimes ;). So... you don't get any additional lines of info? It just hangs? If you're unsure, a photograph or the logfile could help, too. Also, it happens in NAND Validator and One Click Setup? Can you try the NAND Validator for SysNAND and tell me the result? Also, maybe try Decrypt9WIP to validate one of your NAND backups.
