Via Twitter, Deep Silver announced that they will publish multiple SEGA and ATLUS titles in Europe, including ATLUS's Persona 5 and SMT IV: Apocalypse, and SEGA's 7th Dragon III Code: VFD. How do you think this will affect the future of these games? Comment your thoughts!

Can't be doing a worse job than Sega or Atlus are already doing, frankly. Given that nothing but the 3DS is region locked these days I don't think it's more than a slight convenience, unless you absolutely need your box to have a PEGI stamp on it.

Let's place bets everyone! I say Persona 5 will be released in Q4 2017 for the EU.

In all seriousness though, good for them. Europeans are going to get the game. I just find it funny that Deep Silver is publishing it.

Deep silver isn't really a big publisher and some of the games they publish are pretty bad.
I hope this name stigma won't affect the sales in Europe. But good to know that P5 is coming. Now I would like to know a release date and how many month I'm gonna suffer waiting for the game.

I'm pretty sure the European psp persona 2 and 3 releases that I picked up were published by quick silver and I'm glad that Europe is getting the new games. I don't see a problem, all good.

The big question is if they can release games in the same period as the Atlus US. The best thing a European publisher can do is ensure the games can piggyback off the hype from US media. Deep Silver did an okish job of releasing Catherine a few years ago but than again. we got Catherine nine months after the US. Atlus need to be onboard and ensure they can provide competent versions of the games within a reasonable timeframe like they did with NISA. A Devil Survivor Overclocked or SMT IV scenario has absolutely no excuse for existing in this day and age.

I thought only Nintendo systems were region locked currently. Can developers purposely region lock their games on non-region locked systems?
I'm not sure if it's possible with the PS4, but it was with the PS3. The PS3 is a region-free system, but Persona 4 Arena was region locked: http://kotaku.com/5924128/persona-4...ed-because-the-dollar-is-weak-against-the-yen

That was one of the only few region locked titles on the PS3. I doubt Persona 5 will be region locked though.
