Well now you're just tempting me to abuse my powers
For a moment i thought it was a cringe horrible theory and was about to stop the video saying he lost it, good thing it was just an opening joke and is about gamer viewed by society.

You mean like Ness isn't Sans? That theory made me stop watching that channel, taken as proof that MatPat had sold out. And look at him. Meeting the POPE, having a YouTube Red series, it's clear he lives off YouTube. Which is great for him, and he can get away with it, but the video quality suffers.

and plus he chooses Undertale of all games, like it's not a bad game but i don't think the Pope would react to a game about befriending demons and sacrificing children as something positive and promoting pacifism, no matter how it's presented, remember how The 700 Club reacted to a picture of Sans?
pfffff i am kinda curious how he expects the Pope to play the game, did matpat even give any instructions? like is his staff gonna have to help him make a steam account?

Matpat said it was a "symbolic gift" and he knows the pope doesn't have a computer.
It's a pretty bad idea for a "symbolic gift" though.
no kidding, a code of a game with DRM that's digital and technically doesn't exist?
i can only imagine how much of a confusing gesture that is to the Pope
