Going to give the same answer as every other thread with the same question. NTR Viewer is barely usable when using n3ds everything (for most games). o3ds does not have the resources to do this at all. If you want to record whatever, you are better off either buying an n3ds (its a great console to own anyways) or getting a capture card. I don't know much about capture cards for the 3ds, but I think I have heard them going for over $100 and you usually have to send your ds somewhere. (Someone correct me if I am wrong)

I have 3 capture cards currently you can only get them for one person and they sell for $549 before shipping and tax

Only true for New 3DS. For original O3DS, Loopy does boards. Even though they're external, content recorded with Loopys always look better to me, not to mention, no horror stories about lack of support from Loopy, while there are countless about Katsukity. So many in fact, that people have turned to Loopy to get their shitty Katsukity cards repaired lmao.

Katsukity is essentially the Gateway of 3DS capturing. Their capture software needs a serial, even though it only works with their proprietary hardware.

Loopy doesn't sell anymore. That's the only issue

Both boards work well and have their ups and downs I have one from loopy and 2 from Katsukity i even made video comparisons their only main difference is really the software they use

Yes he does. He was out of stock for a long time but now they're back in stock and he's active.

New 3DS here. Looks like I won't be capturing a screenshot of the dev ErrDisp any time soon. :(

Yep. It's a hardmod for $250 or new-in-box with capture included for around $500.
it's worth getting a N3Ds already XD

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

since getting video is too hard, but it's possible to get screenshot, whatif something just take a lot of screenshot and them the owner use his ways to amake a vidoe from it?:v

¯\_(ツ)_/¯ I just bought a N3DS for the streaming feature.
(It's a good upgrade anyways)

because if you notice, everytime you take a screenshot the 3ds freezes for a bit.
You wont be able to take a ton of em and play a game or either the screenshots or the game will run at like 1 fps

I got a N3DS because I wanted to stream too XD
sadly I'm a bit unlucky about paiying this :v but it's another history XD
o I never sued the screenshot feature so I didn't knew that :v

Well other way you could do it is with well positioned cameras?:B isn't the same but
I remember a think on old DS/psp thing that you just attack on the portable screens and it had a video output ... it would look like recording from the screen but well placed :v
I wanted to show but I don't remind the name of these things xp

It seems that the problem lies beyond just simple processing speed (otherwise it would run fine on O3DS, just slower), my postulation is that streaming causes games to run in O3DS mode on a N3DS while the additional processor cores and RAM are used to handle the background streaming processes. This might be why certain N3DS exclusive games like Xenoblade Chronicles run at underclocked O3DS speeds when streaming is running at the same time. If this is true, then this would explain why unless someone comes up with a completely different method, NTR's streaming method will never work on O3DS because the O3DS cannot be underclocked further and lacks the physical cores and other internal hardware necessary to perform the tasks.

Without a capture card or NTR though, it is still possible to get relatively good quality recordings if you use the cardboard box method with a decent camera and internal audio recording. If you don't have a useable camera, it's better off to buy a N3DS as that would probably cost less.

As far as I know NTR uses some hardware introduced in the n3DS that contains a CODEC for video and audio streams. While theoretically possible for games with low memory requirements, it would take a stupid amount of code and you would get less than 1FPS for sure. You just need hardware for this on embedded devices such as the 3DS.

Fun fact:
This is the same hardware that allows the n3DS browser to do more stuff!

There was stream of the peoples battles on a big screen, all they had where o3DS and the game, not sure if N3dS was launched that time? (since It's an official tournament, I don't think it was in a hack way hahah)
I wonder how they made it õ3o

Yes that is true.
