If this is a question I shouldn't be asking feel free to notify me and delete.

I've watched several videos and read a few posts on the various files that come in an extracted ISO (like the one required for GX2).

The thing I get confused about is that some videos and guides don't use all of the files in the ISO. I've seen some only use content and code, or put both of those into a folder called data.

And then I've seen some people say some games only come out a certain size, say 2.5GB, and yet whenever I download an ISO for the same game, it far exceeds the size, say 8GB.

Why is this? Is there some folders or files that are unneeded that I can delete to trim down the size?

What exactly are you asking? You have a game dump, but want to trim down its size?
If you really need extra space, you can delete the meta folder, but that's it. Everything else is necessary to run the game in Loadiine GX2.

You can also remove language files you will never use, but always do it with caution JUST IN CASE.

Also it's WUD not ISO, and the dumped folders you need are:

game name <title id>
code
content
meta

Loadiine requires you to extract ISOs into their folder/file form, it doesn't support ISOs natively.
And in the process of extracting your ISOs, you lose the ISO padding which is responsible for the huge file sizes.

Yeah, pretty much. Now that I think about it if it was possible it'd have to be game specific.

Ah yes I remember someone mentioning that you can delete the language folders. Thanks, I'll try that.

I've only downloaded Loadiine ready "ISOs," and yet some of them actually come out to be bigger than they're supposed to be. For example for Kirby and the Rainbow Curse, on the compatibility list, it says it's around 2 GB. I've seen one floating around that's around 4GB, and the one I've got is almost 9GB.

New super Mario bros U always dumps from 23.3gb WUD to like 1.6gb... If there were files you could then remove from that you could make it even smaller.
Yeah I've got a backup of that game and I think it's even smaller.. However I wonder why my Rainbow Curse is the only backup I have that's significantly larger than other's backups. I'll see later if I can find any language files I don't need.
