I don't know who to marry with whom...nor who to marry my avatar with (Felicia? Azura? Silas? Kaze? Someone else)...In Awakening I married Chrom because he was the second protagonist and for the rest I blindly followed a list of optimal marriages but in Birthright I have no idea...I'm basically playing the game blind and have no idea of optimal pairings or even reclassing...help please? :shy:

Chrom is actually the main protagonist in Awakening. And my suggestion for your avatar is to marry your favorite character of the opposite gender. Not sure what I can do about the pairings for all units, but I can give you a few tips.

Kaze x Azura is EXTREMELY good, so I HIGHLY suggest that you keep that one in mind

Pick whoever you want. It's a game, and i really dunno why they added this to the game. Fire emblem never been a sim date kind of thing and it just seem so under developed, but it could been worst, or like the affnitiy system in xenoblade chronicles.

Don't forget to install GayFates before you start, it'll give you way more options! And those options are better, because they're gay! There's also a tiny patch made by the same lovely user who made GayFates [UnassumingVenusaur] that allows you to switch the join order of Jacob and Felicia (normally jacob joins first if your avatar is female, with felicia showing up late in the game, and vice versa for male avatars) if you're into that.

Yeah that's why i didn't understand the inclusion for this, with too many options and variable for things that kinda was just a tactical RpG game, adding more stuff may confuse or itimidate or even draw attention from the player to things that may even be unecessary and spend more time on contemplating things like that which may bevery time consuming. I acknowledge is a thing now and have no problem with it since it adds more variety to the game but It could have been made better, more newcomer friendly even, a optimize option, a hint option or something to make things easier when deciding stuff with many options.

Maybe more like how some rpg games have a optimize equipment button.

It really makes no difference. It doesn't affect anything of any significance, and if you just want to see the confession at S rank support, they're all on YouTube anyway to save you the trouble. If you absolutely have to marry someone, then just go with whoever you think is the best by whatever criteria you judge people. For example, in my Birthright run I married Kagero because she's just ridiculously top-heavy, in my Conquest run I didn't marry anyone since I couldn't find a good way to grind for supports with the Scouting option gone, and in Revelations I married Charlotte because I was curious how she'd react, what with the whole fake personality thing.

While supports in older Fire Emblem games might have been more time consuming and irksome to obtain, I think the inclusion of the new system in Awakening is what kept the series alive. You have many people interested purely in the romances (hello reason for Fates Phoenix mode) and the hardcore-Pokemon esque breeding crowd, that love customizing each character for the best pair-ups and best child stats. It adds a whole new level to the game without being overly complex. (Unless you're going for pairing up everyone for perfect stats) And it's not even mandatory, heck, by the time I get to the child character chapters, I've just about got the army I'll be using for the endgame, so they go mostly unused. It's just a nice inclusion to make Fire Emblem stand out in the vast genre of SRPGs.

Well yeah that is a good point, I am not making it sound lame, i just mean it could been more, it could a been a dating sim graphic novel kind of game, Or a more fabricated fleshed out version of tomodachi life but seperate from the main game. As like $10-$20 download game stricly focused on just that part of the game but not being part of the main game, i was saying it may add to fustration, itimidation, confusion and time consumption of the game that people would tend to focus more on than the actual game itself. If it was seperate in is own right "Fire emblem Fate of the chosen hearts" Or something to be more centered around relationships and how things develope with the couples and some thing like that, it probably would have been slightly less complex for things.

newcomer friendly =! fire emblem

Also more options is always a good thing. Especially gay options. Long live the homosexual agenda.

It absolutely affects things of significance, especially for Conquest where minmaxing plays a large role. It affects partner seals, and which classes specific children inherit. Lategame progression in Fire Emblem is all about re-classing and grabbing the best skills from each class.

One thing that just occurred to me.... The sound on the 2600 sucked less back then the harsh sound we hear now is from infinitely better speakers we have now, back when the 2600 was new speakers produced a almost muffled sound, like CRTs made old graphics look slightly better.
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
I wonder if I could recommend that to some emulation devs that perhaps the sound could use some smoothing out to simulate those old TVs
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
I think a few of the early systems could benefit from that, at least up to the 8 bit generation, by the 16 bit generation I think TVs had gotten a lot better in almost every way
