Hacking O3ds 5.1 black icon with rx

Hi all,
My gf bought a o3ds with sys fw 5.1 I follow the guide to install RX via gateway/emu9, unlink nand.
Rx 3.0 (but also 2.6) is installed properly I could boot RX with the qr code and access the menu by pressing L but if I try to boot RX to emunand it freeze. On "rxmode is booting".
After I try to times all the procedure to create emunand and rx, I try one last thing:
I've take all the file and folder (rxtool and root file) from my personal o3ds xl (with 9.2) and I've copied it on my gf SD card.
And
It works
Why?
The problem now it that when I boot rx on emunand I have 3 black icon that corresponds to 3 application that I've installed on my o3ds xl 9.2
How can I get rid of that icons?
Can I safe update emunand?
Can you tell me why if I follow the guide and use rxtool from the original source it stucks on boot but if I copied an already installed rx it woks?

if your console is already on 9.2 just do part 3 if you dont want to install a9lh rednand is not necessary but you should install a9lh+luma if you want brick proof and %100 boot rate
edit:rxtools is no longer being worked on and black icons mean you installed a cia in your nand

No my console is on 5.1 but I'm going crazy that guide advice to update to 9.2 but i can't boot console in pasta mode...it stuck on black screen I really don't know what to do

you should update console using plaisysupdater just go the emunand and update to 9.2 then make a backup if you updated successfully make a backup of your emunand then flash it to sysnand

why? i try the sysupdater method (I did it on another console and everything goes well), with fbi inject in the h&s on sysnand =(

just for safety you can use it on sysnand if you want

Don't do this. Even if you just want a MenuHax+RedNAND//EmuNAND setup, stop at Part 4, End of Section 2. That way we have injected FBI into RedNAND//EmuNAND and also have proper NAND backups of SysNAND and EmuNAND//RedNAND.

Also, that info sort of doesn't completely apply to OP, since we need to Update to 9.2, not downgrade. So we want to do the 9.2.0 Update section that actually applies to OP's complete firmware version.

Use that chart OP, to figure the best method for your firmware version to get to 9.2 safely.

Also, you could look into using my guide, which is an adapted version of Plailect's A9LH Guide, but with MenuHax users in mind, and address issues that Plailect's A9LH Guide won't cover when stopping short of finishing the guide.

However, if you are not scared to go the full A9LH route, and understand the risks involve in the process, then go for it, I guess. Your choice. Do what you want.

Yes i have it of course...if I can run run any DAT file like emu9 or decrypt9 from a qrcode it's because I have the browser had right?!

One question beside luma3ds, if I have another 3ds with RX 3.0 can I safe update emunand?

Its for another 3ds xl that I have I don't want to change cfw now so I prefer to try to update emunand for now then when o have time change it to luma...
The important is that its safe to update I have some game save that I care

changing rxtools to luma is just copying all luma files to root then use luma to boot emunand

If I want to pass a o3ds from rxtool 3 to luma can I just substitute folders? she already had emunand with some cias installed does she loose everything?

You don't lose anything when switching cfws since every modern cfw should be able to read just about any form of emunand on the sd card (the exception I guess being having an emunand at the end of the sd card instead of the first thing, but if you have that setup, you probably know what you are doing)

btw luma3ds requires fw 7.1 minimum
