See if you can get make an app like Tagmo for iOS, also see if you can collaborate and get skylanders/legodimensions added to the app. If you check around proxmark there should be algorithms you can borrow to decrypt/encrypt the figures.

Check the Tagmo thread, and the amiibo card thread. They discuss some of the stuff there. NFC reading/writing should be fun; and it's relatively new so maybe you can find out something new/interesting to do with it. Not sure if your iphone supports it though...

It's probably a pipe dream, but i throw it out there anyway.....

I would love to be able change the colour temperature of the 3DS's screens to reduce the amounts of white and blue spectrum light that wreaks havoc with my circadian rhythm when i'm playing before bed. Essentially, an app to emulate f.lux for win/mac/android.

Yeah, i know i can dream, last discussion i saw that topic bought up, i think the general consensus was it would take a great feat of software engineering to achieve :(

Holy shit, I was planning on suggesting this EXACT thing just now! I'm so used to flux reddening my other screens that the 3ds is hurting my eyes at night :D I'll take two, please!

Work time percentage calculator. You enter what time your shift starts and ends and the app displays what percentage of the day has elapsed or remains in real time. Currently I have to work this out in my head.

I'm a terrible clock watcher.

I like this! It would be extremely useful on a apple watch too.

If you are thinking a bit more exotic a nice free to play or straight shot version of rampart (basically proto tower defense/the thing that tower defense sprung from)

Bonus is the game in the arcades was always controlled with a roller ball so you can emulate that if you want and not have to worry about phone controls quite as much, not to mention it could pose a somewhat interesting thing to adapt.

That said simple free to play or no in app/advert nonsense games would do well on any platform at this point. You would probably have a hard time doing a competitive clone of tetris (and that is before the tetris people pop their heads up for trademarks) but there are a bunch of classic games. That is what I have been tempted to do, however I can't stand java development and my tangles with objective C thus far say it would risk sort of ruining me a bit for C and C++, not enough to really matter but it would take the edge off and I want to go further into C and C++ as it has what I am interested in. Swift? Haha, nice one.

If it is for your own personal amusement then use whatever works for you to get the task done. If it is for someone else then make sure they are OK as well, and if they are OK with brainfuck then walk away. A far higher level language like swift is not going to be as nice (assuming you are equally competent at both) for a rapid reaction game but it is not outside the scope either.

I had a skim through swift syntax and libs and stuff at various points after it was released, I guess I like it more than some of the educational languages for practical purposes but it felt about as... artificial/made without regard to how the world works as some of those. Plus I would really rather not tie myself to apple, I know they claim it is somewhat open source but so was C# and we know how that went.

f.lux is a thing for ios already.

Make a "pictochat" iOS version. via bluetooth. although, the connection could be like:
A is connected to B.
B is connected to A and C
C is connected to B and D

essentially making a chain of people. i'd use it (if i had an iphone).
