Try putting the decrypt9 arm9loaderhax bin on the SD card as the ordinary payload. If that won't work you may have bricked rather than installed a9lh

and how do i do that? whaat files of decrypt9 i take and maybe rename i think? there's no arm9loaderhax or payloads files in the decrypt9 folder

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

and i have not mentioned that i already hacked a 3ds some weeks ago with this method, with no problem at all. this 2ds is not mine, and i have to return it this afternoon.. and i'm in panic ahahah

if i return this 2ds to gamestop with the warranty and i say that it suddendly won't power on,do they instantly give me another 2ds or they run some tests and can find if i modded it destroying some possibility or warranty?

in the worst cases i thought about buying a used one, maybe they sell it less than 60 euros..

So this happened basically directly after the A9LH Install process on 2.1 SysNAND?
Can you confirm that no errors popped up during the installation process and that the 2DS did shutdown due to the installation being finished and not manually or forced due to battery or anything else.

Which installer and which files did you use? (I assume the 2.0 installer and the files Plailect provided. Confirm this please)

If you can confirm the above parts, A9LH should be succesfully installed. Could you please list the contents on the root of your SD Card in that case? Also check you Luma folder. If there already is a config file in your Luma folder, delete it.

Because you downloaded the non-screeninit version I am not sure if you can run Decrypt9 as Arm9LoaderHax.bin, which is why Luma would be required.

Please make sure your Luma3DS is set up correctly. Then get yourself Decrypt9 and put the *bin file as x_D9.bin in /luma/payloads
If you did that try booting your 3DS while holding your X Button. If Decrypt9 shows up feel free to restore a NAND with a version above 4.5 (keep A9LH).

If you are certain luma is set up correctly (and you are using the latest version). You may have bricked during the installation of A9LH. To recover from this you would require a Hardmod. However this is highly unlikel, so please recheck your SD Card and Luma setup before.

if i remember correctly i powered off by pressing down the power button WHEN the installation was complete and it was rebooting, because i knew if it rebooted it was pointless and it was just black screen as normal.. i don't think it was the reason

with the sd folder i messed a little, changing various arm9loader and payloads, but i always putted the originals back after the test with different arm9loader.bin

for answering you questions, loading arm9loaderhax did had like 2 or 3 freeze during installation on the webpage of the 2ds,then i retried another time and it worked fine, then i shut down manually as i said. i'm 99% that it was complete and it was rebooting itself.

i certanly used the 2.0 installer

i already tried to delete the config from the luma folder before,as i readed in another thread (For information, ths 2ds now can't even do the up+L+R+a trick to recover, just a black screen without even the light coming in life, and of course the blue light led of power)

tried the decrypt9 trick you mentioned, but nada.still black screen. (do i have to put in the name of the "x_D9.bin" the .bin part or just x_D9? i already tied both and nothing)

while i was searching for some answers i seen someone having this "rei" folder that i didn'thad, and i created it manually copying the files the others had in there... so that rei is not a correct installation but a copy of what seemed to be missing

for the luma installation and other files,as i remember, i never downloadedsome latest release,as the were literally from a bunch of days ago,and i wanted the latest files before those super recent ones, because the guide is some months old and i wanted the exact same files to be sure it would run all as expected.

And this is the reason why I'm hesitant to follow the guide and install A9LH, because even if you follow the guide you still brick. The guide isn't brick proof. At least with downgrading if you do everything correctly the worst that can happen is getting a soft brick.
wrong. the downgrade could fail during NATIVE_FIRM installation, hard-bricking you.

Your sd card looks ok, maybe a little messy, but you seem to have all the files you need. It looks to me like you have your Decrypt9 payload set to X. Try holding X when turning on the system (hold the button before you press power) if you haven't already and see if it loads. If it does, simply restore a NAND backup and go from there.

If it doesn't work, try adding the .bin to the end of the file name (try it with the arm9loaderhax.bin file too).

Assuming that won't work either (or anything else) you may have bricked the system during the installation somehow. If this turns out to be the case, you have also voided the warranty by modifying the system... Sorry...

I'm sure there are laws (at least in europe) saying this isn't the case and the warranty isn't voided.

yea.. it does nothing trying to hold down at startup x or anything else with the .bin or without

there is a chance that if i return back to nintendo the 2ds they don't see that i modified something?

They should accept it, but keep in mind they WILL update it to 11.0.

at this point i just need it to work,as it's not mine and i think that my cousin will be pissed if i return this as it is in this state and say "have fun,i have made a mad modification that only work if you're blind"

i don't care if return 11.0,because or i do the warranty thing or i think i have to buy a new (or used one) 2ds for him.

so you can ensure me that they'll send it back fresh and clean with 11.0? because in the article it's said that "The seller has to prove that the defect is caused by user's actions before completelly voiding the warranty. Unless that, the standard 2 years of the warranty is still valid." and the defect IS caused by my actions. so i don't know.

They would almost definitely notice considering you have a bricked recovery mode. They will still probably accept and repair it for you, but as @gnmmarechal said, they will most likely update it to 11.0.

From what I'm reading here if the seller can prove your actions caused the defect, your warranty is still void.

how would they prove it though? Considering it won't turn on. I don't think they'll bother trying to find out. They'll just flash 11.0 on it, most likely.

Doubt they'd bother trying to find out. I't probably be easier for them to simply reflash 11.0.

It's kinda obvious... There's no way to brick your recovery mode without attempting to mod the system. The whole point of recovery mode is to be a failsafe. But so long as you're paying for the repair, I doubt they will care.

Actually, he didn't brick recovery mode. NATIVE_FIRM is bricked as far as I can see. Which CAN happen in any update (that updates NATIVE_FIRM), should power fail.

Without a working NATIVE_FIRM, the 3DS won't even start recovery mode.

He actually did say his recovery mode didn't work, otherwise he could fix the problem without sending it to Nintendo.
.... did you even read my post? If NATIVE_FIRM is bricked, recovery mode doesn't work, since the system calls NATIVE_FIRM first.

A9LH doesn't even touch recovery mode.... it touches the firm....
