Yesterday I downgraded my o3dsxl from 10.3E to 9.2-20E using sysupdater. Everything worked just fine and the system automaticly rebooted after downgrading. After this, I installed the correct payload for menuhax.

Now, whenever I try to load gateway mode using menuhax, I can see the gateway logo on the top screen and after that both screens go black.

Is there anything I need to do to get emunand working on my downgraded 3ds? Do I need to install gateway mode again?

Thanks in advance for helping. :)

did you create an emunand by going to gateway menu(hold L before the GW logo comes up) and hitting format emunand?

Ive just got a N3DS LL which was on 10.5, I downgraded it last night to 9.1 but when i try boot Gateway it just sits on the first black screen with the white text saying GATEWAY 3DS LOADING...

I did the downgrade using the browser hack to install the Homebrew Loader then used PlaiSysUpdater to downgrade and all seems fine the console says its firmware is on 9.1

If you continue to try and try again, and it doesn't work, then you may have an incomplete downgrade.

If you're unable to use other tools on homebrew launcher, like decrypt9 or unable to use other cfw to access emunand, it's probably frankenware.

There's a tool to test frankenware, but I forgot what it is called.

A solution would be to simply downgrade again.
Once the downgrade is complete, you should be able to access CFW.
MY first N3DS And 2DS required me to downgrade twice.

Everything seems to be working ok, i can access homebrew loader by holding down on the dpad, ive just created a sysnand backup.

I was wondering after reading on here about emunand if i have to then run emunand9 after downgrading.

i was a little ?? because the guide says downgrade to 9.2 but the 9.2 link after downgrading claims its 9.1 on the system.

Im finding this hard as it is with the consoles language been japanese (N3DS LL) lol

It's not about homebrew loader, it's about other homebrew that requires permissions.

It's okay for Japanese to be 9.1, it's actually 9.2 displayed as 9.1.

I have that issue too.

I've downgraded a total of 3 NDS LL, and made 2 into A9LH

Ill have to try again at dinner, boss is due in soon.

Last night when i did the downgrade i did get a screen that i couldnt read that looked to me like the screen you get when you remove the game cart while playing a game.

I did the downgrade process again (after a few attempts of it hanging at the start) but when it did the downgrade this time rather than a long list if things installing then saying done, only one file showed then it said to turn off if it doesnt reboot so i turned it off.

Ill try the downgrade process again to see if it missed anything.

Yup, that's a sign of partial downgrade.
I got that for my N3DS LL and 2DS.

You'll have to downgrade again.

Well of you downgraded again, it should have been settled
You are using the downgrade pack from Phailect right?

Also go into sysnand, change themes, reinstall menuhax.

It seems you're trying to boot gateway with the spider exploit at Go.gateway-3ds.com, that won't work on N3DS, it's only for o3ds, you need to use browserhax or any other hax to load the GW.3dsx in the homebrew launcher

did downgrade process again, this time nothing was showing it went straight to reboot so i guess the second attempt finished the downgrade off.

To confirm, your sysnand and emunand are unlinked right,

You should be able to use CFW now

i am still using sysnand 9.2 and i guess it was the web exploit for my N3DS LL, using the gateway.3ds worked so i might have to think, do i remain at this to make cheat codes or shall i go down the time machine route

i was thinking because the impression i get off this is that you can boot straight into gateway mode.

strange when i enter gateway it seems to break the 3d, its like looking at it sideways seeing double vision.

With menuhax, you boot straight into gateway,
In around 15 seconds.

place gateways.3dsx at root, rename it to boot.3dsx

Though note it's boot rate isn't 100%

You can also set it to coldboot without keywords
(instead of press down and touch the screen, just touch the screen)

Also, putting it to sleep and opening again should fix 3D

Menuhax will autoboot Gateway quite fine. If you need it to boot faster and more reliably, install a9lh using Plailect's guide then use liomajor's method to have it autoboot Gateway. But do not use Gateway Time Machine, it's a one-way ticket to Bricksville. It basically copied the major steps from Plailect but completely skipped all the important safety steps. Not to mention, your console becomes permanently wedded to Gateway (if your cartridge ever breaks or gets lost your console is useless, you can't even start it up at all). AND you get none of the a9lh tools that are the main reason people install a9lh (eg Decrypt9 to unbrick consoles without needing a hardmod).
