Hacking is there a way to update 2.1.0-4 to 9.2 without a cart-based update?

i'm currently hacking my friend's o3ds which came with 2.1.0-4E.
we can get OTP easily using plailect's Browser OTP method. but the problem is updating to 9.2.

can we run sysupdater on 2.1.0?

EDIT: we also have an R4i SDHC if that helps.

there's no non-cart based method (for now, at least).

you can do:
4.x or 6.x cart upgrade, then use DS flash cart to set up DS profile exploit
upgrade to 9.2 (EUR has several games with this update) and use an exploit game to finish the 9.2.0-20 upgrade
upgrade to 9.3 - 10.7 and use an exploit game to downgrade to 9.2.0-20

EBay. Or buy my Gardening Mama game for $25AUD including postage (has a 9.2 update on it) :-)
When I updated my 2.1 console to 9.2 with this game, I had a copy of cubic ninja. It is possible you can't use browserhax or anything on a cartridge-upgraded console since the browser version will be very low. Best to find a 4.x cartridge. Worst case scenario you will need a DS flashcart which is very cheap, but I think the browser install method for rxTools works on very low browser versions.

Used correctly you can use it like any other cartridge. Therefore. Sure.

Yes, just check at http://3dsdb.com/ on what game has a 4.x cart update then put it in the sky3ds+. Then use that to update to 4.x, then do the MSET Exploit. Just make sure to get the OTP first before updating to 4.x.

Luigi's Mansion 2 has a 4.5 update for instance.

finally got the sky3ds cart and was able to successfully update to 9.2E and hack the o3ds to a9lh luma3ds cfw! thanks everyone
