So I've been using USB Loader GX for a very long time and just recently started to load my Wii backups. But when I try to load the majority of the Wii backups, they load, however, the controllers DON'T WORK at all. An example of this is DBZ Tenkaichi 3. Whenever I try to load it, it plays, but I cant get past the title screen because the buttons don't work. I tried using both the Gamecube controller and the Wiimote but still no success.

I assumed this was the ISO, so i tested it on dolphin and it worked completely fine. So I had assumed that it was the loader and not the ISO. I switched to Wiiflow to see if this was a USB Loader GX thing, but even on Wiiflow not success.

And this example applies to 3 other Wii games (Sonic Colors, Kirby's Return to Dreamland, and Tastunoko vs. Capcom), but not at all with gamecube backups. These load flawlessly with no hickups.

USB loader GX version used is v3.0 rev.1260

Please help!!!!

Maybe something is happening that is causing the wiimotes to desync. Try loading up the game again and once loaded, press the rec sync buttons on both your Wii and your Wiimote and see if they connect.

It could be an issue with the controller itself, if it's not an official nintendo product.
Third parties are known to have compatibility issues, I guess it can happen even with official games.

it doesn't happen with gamecube backup, because you probably are using Nintendont. That loader is not using the real controller functions but emulating the input by reading raw button states.
You can enable the official controller function (Native control : ON) and see if it has the same issue.
Try another wiimote or gamecube controller if you can.

Tried all four of my other gamecube controllers and still no success. The native control support, which was previously OFF, was under nintendont in settings and was turned on. But, isn't nintendont for gamecube backups? The wii backups are the ones that are not working properly.

An exception to the problem I'm having is New Super Mario brothers. Wii remotes work fine on the this backup. Its the other Wii backups that no controller works on.

hope this i don't bother anyone, but what mios (cmios/dios mios/mios v..) have you got installed and what cios (with base ios number and version please and cios version number) do you use for those games? cause i've had some problems before with dios mios and cmios... wireless gc controllers are not all working with all cios...
usb loader might not be the real problem (could be the settings in usb loader or the installed cios/mios)...

You mentioned that it doesn't happen with gamecube backup, so I talked about it too.
Do you have official or unofficial wiimotes? if it happens only in some games, I think it's related to the wiimote and not the loaders or hack.
could you try another (official) wiimote? maybe borrow one from a friend if you don't have another one.

If your wiimote is a wiimote+ (bundled with the motion+) try an old wiimote without motion+

not all wii games support gc controllers... what i read is gc controllers on wii games... it can't be the loader since the game itself does the calls, loader just assigns the right iso to the right cios... therefore i thought it be the cios/mios... most likely the cios... all wireless gc controllers i tried worked normal official and non official, the wireless ones however gave me a lot of bugs... those did so when using official discs too so it wasn't the loader.

The Wiimotes sync back up and the player 1 light lights up, but still no success with controllers working. I also tried your advice to resync controllers after loading but still no success with controllers working.

Using an official wiimote with no motion plus bundled. I'll see if I can borrow another wiimote from a friend and see if that can make a difference. But what if i want to use gamecube controllers for certain games like DBZ tenkaichi 3 or SSB Brawl?

if you are using an official without motion+, then I don't know what your issue is, sorry. same for gamecube controllers, if they are official (not wireless).
I based it off the issue that unofficial ones can encounter.

Sometime it's something really easy to fix and we don't think about it.
I hope someone else will have an idea.

Im aware that some wii games have no gamecube controller support, but the ones that do have gamecube controller support (Sonic Colors, DBZ Tenkaichi 3, Super Smash Bros Brawl) aren't working for gamecube controllers. These are also all official controllers. For the cIOS I only dont really know. I only installed the ones I was supposed to to get the loader running properly.

This one guy had a similar problem with the Wii. Somehow it had gotten fixed.

I will link back to it
http://forums.afterdawn.com/threads/cant-get-wii-remotes-to-sync.700599/

He fixed it using Bootmii somehow. But I believe completely moving to a completely new loader MAY work. CFG Loader, or WiiFlow may be best to solving the issue. For the Wii remote issue it may be a problem with the actual Wiimote,

Some newer models of the Wiimote, and wiimotion plus may not work as well on the Wii as well.

Do the remotes work if you use the retail discs for the games? If they work on the system menu and disc-booted games your custom IOS may have gotten screwed up.

The remotes work fine on disc mounted games. I assume that it could quite possibly the cIOS's that I installed, or it could be that I have to install more tho get the remotes working on these games properly. I have d2x cios already installed. Which cIOS should I install?

You might just need to reinstall them. I missed it if you posted one, but a SysCheck report might help.

Another thing that could matter... are you using SNEEK or UNEEK? Their preferences are not synced with the real NAND's.

Ok I'm gonna reinstall those IOS's. Now what about this SNEEK and UNEEK?

If you didn't set that up then it's not the problem. NEEK is a method to run your Wii from SD/HDD instead of using the console's NAND memory. It's neat but we should figure out what's wrong with your controllers first.

I tried to reinstall the IOS's but I couldn't figure out how. I tried using Wiimod first, but it said that these ios's are stubs and could brick my Wii so i got a little scared. I then switched over to d2xcios and tried to install but still nothing worked. I just want to play Tenkaichi 3
