You must of forgotten to unlink your NANDs. And, you will have to wait or buy a exploit game, also waiting for a way to downgrade to 9.2 (unless hardmod). You're doomed.

EDIT: have you got a NAND backup on 9.2?

My NANDS were unlinked. One said RX-E one didn't. If I have a backup can I restore from backup? If so how?

That doesn't mean they are unlinked. They are unlinked if you do a system format on either sysNAND or emuNAND. If you get it hardmodded, see if the hardmodder will set up a9lh for you, or do it yourself when you get it back. This way you'll just be using sysNAND and you can happily update anytime you like.

So it's all over. Fuck me
No, get @hundshamer to hardmod your console for you, and see if he'll also install a9lh (I think he does for an extra fee). Then your console will be as close to 100% brick-proof as is possible nowadays. It would take an extraordinary combination of circumstances to screw up an a9lh + hardmodded console. Like, you'd have to really try, and actually research what to do if you wanted to screw it up . It would be wildly unlikely to happen by accident (basically every common accident is protected against). Cheer up ... a lot of people get their console hardmodded without having actually screwed it up first, since it's a good thing to have.

No it's not. Updating emuNAND will not update sysNAND, @Makawam must have updated sysNAND by accident.
But they share the same NAND, meaning that you have 2 sysNANDs on 1 3ds. Linked EmuNAND = SysNAND. And if you unlink it, they use different data, so it is safe to update EmuNAND then. And yes, @Makawam possibly updated his SysNAND.

The only thing they share is the SD card data, and firmware updates are not stored on the SD card. Other than that emuNAND is isolated from sysNAND so there is no way updating emuNAND could update sysNAND.
