If you're going to update your entrypoint, why not switch to A9LH?

Then no, you're still stuck with the .cia because HBL can't boot up properly until the operating system itself does, unless someone took the time to get around it from scratch (good luck!). By that point, you'd need to use menuhax, browserhax, or DS Profile to get in. The .cia relies on (relatively) the same exploit menu and browserhax use.

actually I think it's hblauncher_loader rejecting the .bin file you gave me
it goes through those flashing colours and boots into homebrew launcher like normal
