Hacking Uncart dumps not matching "known" dumps

I have dumped a couple of my 3DS games using uncart. It seems to work fine and the games work. One thing I noticed though is that the games are super common, but my CRC's don't match any of the known releases.

Is there a better dumping process that would yield the best results?

I seriously doubt my carts are different revisions from what is already out there.

the answer lies in one word : header.
Last time I checked, uncart did not dump the private header of the cart and filled it with FF bytes, hence the different crc.

the carts got a unique private header...
the dumps online you find either have it cleaned or a "public one" (one that is being used by everyone most likely flagged) i am not sure if we can randomize it or create a fake valid header..
anyway it's normal that your checksums don't match with others because the header

The dumps from the uncart used in Plailects guide are trimmed (all the extra blank space at the end is removed). The No-Intro dat checksums are for untrimmed roms.
You can use 3DS ROM Tool: rom_tool to convert between the two forms.

All of my cart dumps match the checksums when untrimmed.

Nope. You will have to use Gateway's dumper to do that. Even before I owned a Gateway, I used their Launcher to get private headers out of my games.

That or use a Powersaves.

You do have them, it's just that Uncart doesn't dump them. And they're basically mostly used for online play.

However, they're not needed if you're going to convert them to .cia.

I'd recommend he use Gateway menu to dump. I've never had any luck with Powersaves working for blue button Sky3DS, but I've had a lot of success using Gateway dumped cartridges and Sky3DS+.

That's how I do it to get my private headers. Works well for me.

Yeah.... but that's pretty messed up thing to do. Because of this, I recommend people just get Powersaves and any cheap game they can find and be done with it. (For Sky3DS+ users)

Ask for a video of the exact cart being smashed with a hammer. That should be good enough.

Then again using custom firmware and Cia files would be overall the best solution.

They're used when going online if you're using .3ds files with a flash cart like gateway. It's a sort of unique identifier used to spot multiple copies of the same cart being used at the same time.
However, if you're converting to cia format, you don't need them since cias get an identifier from the console itself.
