is there a way to make NUSGrabber get only the files specific to a version and to download all the files again upto that version.

also im talking about keeping the base unupdated base game not the update files
Isn't that what it already does?

Anyway, if you want to be able to switch between game versions at will, Loadiine lets you do this very easily. The update data for each respective update goes in a separate directory and you can choose which directory to use at load time (or use none at all)

Yeah. Each game uptade contains all previous updates to that point.

I have also read that some games had better compatibility when the updates were merged into the game's folders, the old fashion way, instead of the new option for separate update folders.

Yes, just make an updates folder in the game folder where code, content and meta is, make a folder inside that with the version number, and place the code, content and meta folders from the update there. You should end up with
E:\wiiu\games\gamename [GAMEID]\updates\v123\ containing code, content and meta
When launching the game in Loadiine GX2 there is a dropdown box for update folder, select the folder you added there.

is there ever a reason to play a game on a certain version?

It's useful if you're playing around with game mods since you can put the modded files as an "update" and switch between mods at will, can't think of a reason you'd want to use any other game version than the latest though. Except Captain Toad where the update seems to add nothing but some dumb Amiibo functionality.

Nobody replied to you.
Yes there's a way to tell NUSGrabber which update version you want to download, just add the version after the TitleID.
Code:
Nusgrabber.exe titleID [Version]
version is optional, if not present it will download the latest version.
if present, it will download (up to) that specified version.

example:
Nusgrabber.exe 0005000E1010EC00 32
it will download the encrypted update v32 of Mario Kart 8 USA.
You can use the encrypted files with WUPinstaller, or use Cdecrypt to decrypt them and use with Loadiine.

You can also use JNUSTool and select the specific version you want. it will download+decrypt directly into the correct folder for loadiine folder layout.
you can either merge the update with the game's files, or put the update in the subfolder and keep the game's file untouched.

it's theoretically possible, if you know which file were updated.
You can download only specific files by using JNUSTool.

So it's easy to compare the latest files with the one you already have and download only the added files.
But there's no way to see if an existing file has been updated.
So, you'll have to download the full update 0-1.66 to be sure you have all the latest version.
