i am using a sd card formatted as internal memory, since using it as normal apps were not automatically installed to the sd card stuff for example downloads keep downloading into the internal..
i had a sd card of 8gb with 500mb in use.. while my internal storage of 16gb was getting full when i was using it as normal

in windows the folders structures are simple.. we got drives as letters (for example C: D: )
windows stuff inside C:\windows you know the deal...

as for linux, you got a root "/" and it confuses me a little because external devices are mounted inside folders some are in "/mnt" other in "/media" and there is a bunch of folders in there..

can someone give me a light how is the folders structures on android? i am not sure how this works..
in explorers it says for example the download folder is located at /storage/emulated/0/Download (and other stuff like documents points to here)
but when i try to navigate into that folder only thing it has inside is /storage/emulated/0/android/data

and there is a way to know what is saved in what storage?

I formatted my External SD card as Internal Storage once. Immediately formatted it back to Portable Storage.

It didn't get detected by my file manager. Almost impossible to transfer stuff. Just us the Portable Storage option. It's beeter plus you can choose which apps to install/move to the bigger SD card
No phone installs a full app to the external storage.

Only a "part" of the app is installed into it, and it still uses space in the internal storage. And, not every smartphone model and brand has the "transfer to SD" option. Still, it's never good to partition your SD for emulating internal storage, you never know when it'll fail, and as you said, you'll need to take it out from the phone from time to time.

I'm pretty sure it was standardized starting with Marshmallow although OEM's could renove it as well

that's the reason i formatted the sd as internal.. my internal storage was getting full even if i copied most apps to sd card..
but i would like an answer to my question..
how the hell do folders work on android?

Instead of going into the /mnt, go to /storage. This is a more simplified place to see your storage options. You might see /sdcard0
(internal memory card), /sdcard1(external sdcard) and /usbotg etc depending on your phone.

Use this route to navigate to and fro sdcards
