Im trying to use FBI to download CIAs of legit games, however it gives me an error saying something about hashes and stuff (can't check right now). A friend told me to run it in EmuNAND however I use Menuhaxx to use Homebrew and browserhaxx crashes the browser in EmuNAND. I'm using an O3DS with both EmuNAND and SysNAND as 9.0 (wanting to know if it's safe to update SysNAND or not) and my CFW is Luma3DS latest version, however I'm trying to run rxTools. Any help would be appreciated.

By the way, I know I could just use other exploits, but all I have is Smash 3DS, then again Smashhaxx only works on N3DS.

1. Don't run RXTools, it's bad
2. Don't update SysNand, it's bad
3. It is safe to update EmuNand

RXtools is a piece of shit, it lacks many features Luma has, like Region-Free and FIRM patching

It CAN be run on earlier systems though, which is crucial for A9LH.

I used rxtools with browserhax up until a few days ago, but didn't play that much. If you want to use another method, skip rxtools and continue with Luma and boot it with a9lh. That's what I changed to, and it works so well!

You don't need emuNand so you can save that space. And you can upgrade the now hacked SysNand to the most recent version... it all get soooo much better / easier.

And the guide is really easy to follow, even if it is many steps. It takes a lot of time to fix it, but once it's done it's amazing.

About the FBI installer not wanting to install the CIAs, I don't know. I haven't run into that problem myself. My guess would be that it would need 9.2 instead of 9.0 or something like that, but that's just a WILD guess.

Don't mind what he's saying about RxTools, there is nothing wrong with it. It's just outdated and no longer updated I think? He's problably going to promote the Holy Grail A9LH guide and blah blah blah.

Anyhow, load up your emunand, update it to 11.0 and see if that helps.
Thanks but browserhax and Menuhax is patched right? So that means I can't run any homebrew on EmuNAND.

Eh. Probably won't matter.

continue with Luma and boot it with a9lh.

Ok why does everyone want me to get a9lh? I'm not gonna use it.

Once in emunand, install the homebrew launcher cia to get into homebrew...

a9lh, is superior to menuhax is all, eliminates the need for emunand, can recover from bricks without hardmod, that's if you install it without bricking first.

Thanks but should I update EmuNAND before or after?

You know what? I might try it. Should I uninstall Menuhax first though?

I said IF you want to change. A few reasons why though: It loads faster than Menuhax. It has a higher bootrate. You won't accidentally update SysNand and screw yourself over. If something would happen (brick), you can easily restore it.

But if you're satisfied with what you have, no one's forcing you to change. Like me, I waited until just a few days ago. I was intimidated by the sheer size of the guide, of all the files to download and stuff. But it turned out to be easier than I would've ever thought.

I'm happier with a9lh and Luma than I was with browserhax and rxtools.

EDIT:

Keep Menuhax. You'll need it while getting a9lh. :)

EDIT2: Quickly read through the steps of this guide, and you'll see.

One thing that just occurred to me.... The sound on the 2600 sucked less back then the harsh sound we hear now is from infinitely better speakers we have now, back when the 2600 was new speakers produced a almost muffled sound, like CRTs made old graphics look slightly better.
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
I wonder if I could recommend that to some emulation devs that perhaps the sound could use some smoothing out to simulate those old TVs
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
I think a few of the early systems could benefit from that, at least up to the 8 bit generation, by the 16 bit generation I think TVs had gotten a lot better in almost every way
