Currently on 10.6 I believe. If I update to 10.7, is this how I change my payload?
Example: ropbinpayload_menuhax_USA11300_new3ds to ropbinpayload_menuhax_USA11301_new3ds

And everything should work fine? I had a discussion with people in a forum when the update came out but work kept me busy so I had forgot to do it right away.

No need to change the menuhax payloads. Just launch into emunand and update. Make sure you're in Emunand though.

EDIT: Unless you use menuhax IN emunand, don't change menuhax payloads.

The file you listed is for menuhax. Since menuhax runs on your 9.2 sysNAND (and you're never gonna update this), you do not need to change the payload. Also, just fyi, the latest update right now is 11.0, not 10.7.

No problem. If you use Luma3DS (used to be called AuReiNand) you will need to get version 5.5 for online games to work again. Just to be clear, update 11.0 is VERY BAD for hacks. It breaks a bunch of homebrew entry points, and blocks downgrading. Since you already have a hacked 3ds with CFW, you can update your emuNAND to 11.0 safely, I just wanted to mention in case you had a friend who wants to hack theirs or something.

Using Gateway's emunand currently but thanks for that information. I'll actually pass along that 11.0 info to other people I know. A lot have wanted to hack their 3DS for a minute.

Actually I heard that Gateway was getting an A9lh installer so now that you say that I thin I'll shoot for that lol but can you tell me the benefits to having a9lh?

  1. 100% boot success rate. NEVER fails to boot EVER. (This may not be a problem for you since you use gateway. Idk.)
  2. MUCH faster boot. about 7 seconds on my N3DS. Menuhax takes about 25.
  3. Able to run CFW on sysNAND risk free. No emuNAND needed.
  4. BRICK PROTECTION!!! You can backup and restore sysNAND WITHOUT A HARDMOD. This reason right here alone sold me on a9lh.
  5. Makes your 3DS "future proof" meaning future updates can't and won't break your hacks, and if they do somehow it WILL be fixed quickly.
  6. Tons of custom a9lh payloads, like password protection, boot loaders, or even one that plays custom animations when u power on the 3DS.
  7. And many more features including, but not limited to, being able to use the N3DS clock speed in old games.
TL;DR - TONS of reasons, lol.

Just to add, you can use standard (non-GW) A9LH, with Gateway just fine. Gateway released compatible A9LH.bin for non-GWA9LH users.

Please don't setup GWA9LH, you'll be locked down to their version of A9LH, which does not allow you to run other A9LH.bin payloads.

It's also about 20x more dangerous, with the process they tell you to install install it being a mirror of what Plailect's Guide says, except without any of the safety measures or procedures.

Basically, if you use their setup process over the open source ones, you're dumb.
And also probably going to turn your 3DS into a paperweight.

This is amazing. Where can I start? How long does it take to get? Also thank you Temptress for the heads up as well.

Definitely going to avoid their method then. I have too much going for me with my 3DS lol

Ah thank you thank you

Use the guide. Plailect's Guide.

Some people claim they can do it in 40mins. Though I always take 2~ hours. Some people take a lot longer. Done 14 systems so far.

Thank you. I'll be pretty patient when doing this. Don't want to screw anything up lol
