Yes folks, Metal Gear Solid: Snake Eater The Pachinko Slot Game (not real name) is really happening. Having long being the subject of farce, Konami seems to have taken the pachinko adaptation of the famous stealth action game seriously. From the announcement, it looks like it'll be out this Autumn.

If Konami put as much effort into their video games as they did for that trailer/commercial for these panchinko machines then not only would they be profitable again but fans and the whole industry wouldn't hate them.

Sadly I do see this becoming profitable but it can't be good for the long term. How else do you think they got as far as they are today?

It might have to do with how we associate each game. For example, MGS might be considered more hardcore and fans would expect related products to follow suite and not, say a dance game spin-off while Pokemon or Mario are more friendly/family/PG titles and can be fitted in virtually any setting.

Nah. Nobody cares. They don't owe us anything and they can do whatever they want with their IP's. Once the next Konami title comes out everyone will suddenly forget about how mad they were about this, just like they forgot about Star Wars oranges when the movie turned out to be actually quite good.

This pachinko was trademarked like a half year ago. I was really surprised how long it took them to announce it.
But, eh I don't care. Kojipro isn't the same with Konami buttfucking every employee into quitting (because firing someone is a taboo in japan for some reason) and without Kojima the next MG game wouldn't live up anyway.
They might as well do a pachinko out of it.
