Homebrew Problems with Changing 3DS Region from EUR to USA...

Hello all,

So I have been wanting to install the recently leaked 11.4 dev CIAs onto my spare 2DS, however the system CIAs are USA region, and there doesn't seem to be any clear tutos on how to change to USA; only JPN...

This morning, I have tried to downgrade to 4.5.0E, then I installed the 4.5.0U updates and then I injected a USA SecureInfo_A I found on that ISO site.

Everything seemed to be going well, until there were duplicate system apps on my Home Menu, and I couldn't boot either System Settings app on there to try and check that the region change succeeded...

After that, I attempted to install a 10.7.0U update pack to see if things could be fixed. But I just constantly keep getting bricks (which I can fix easily thanks to A9LH)... :/

Can someone try to guide me in the right direction? I'm running a 2DS with A9LH and Luma3DS dev mode.

use the same guide you use that changes to JAP, but when it tells you to use JAP files, use USA files

Look at this though. This is the tutorial I have been following, however there is no list of USA CIAs to be seen.
So how should I be able to know what USA CIAs to grab, exactly?

Tbh, there is no proper reason to do region changes, since luma does region/language patching. I have a Jp system and patching certain games works fine and I couldn't care less with eshop since im not using it and never will. Eshop breaks from what i heard after swapping regions.

Just use the region change portion of Plailect's guide.

changing to any region is just the same, me and a friend made an emunand of every region, all 6, just for fun, when i first did the poc of region changing last january
anyway, good luck

What I think you don't understand is that I don't want to use the region change for out-of-region games or eShop, I want to change my region specifically for some Dev FW CIAs which are of USA region and not EUR.

I have downgraded from 11.0.0-33E to 9.2.0-20U, and straight after the downgrade, I launched GodMode9 and created a SecureInfo_C which I had hex edited to be USA region.

However when I press START to reboot, I just get a black screen, even when powering off and on again...

(this is the 2nd time it's done this to me now)

Anything I'm doing wrong/need to do to fix the problem?

Try editing SecureInfo_A (Make a backup first) without renaming it.

Do you have Dev Features enabled? I had the problem that i hade to boot my Regionchanged NAND before i can enbable it

And to make matters better, I'm on USA region!

why do you think it matters what reason you have for region changing... it's the same process

But region patching with luma wouldn't be able to do the trick for those USA CIAs, surely...
