Free market economics because impatient people are stupid enough to buy it on release date, and leave negative reviews when they cannot get it.

I do love the actual price tho, and the 1070's too. The 1070 is supposed to be equivalent to a Titan X, and is only $379.

I'm still rocking the Radeon 6800, ancient i know. However it plays Age of Empires 3, UT 2004 and the new "Unreal Tournament" Alpha fine, which is all i really play on the PC.

One day I might get back in to PC gaming like i used to be.

Since it's $380 (1070), and the 970 is around $300, you'd probably be able to sell it for $240 or something depending on the condition, the rest of the math you can do.
In my country the 970 is super expensive, so I'll be able to sell it for the same price as the retail price ($300) and just pay $70.

You can never really tell, as nvidia has basically bought off all the AAA game devs to make it more optimized for their cards (and shitty for AMD users). And why not this on 1080? It will be amazing at 1080, and enough at that (above 60fps at max).
