If you were to install ticket files for them, can it be removed or is it permanent? Let's say if those tickets no longer work in the future or you have to send it in to Nintendo for whatever reason.

Also, as of now I heard you have to install a ticket for each game in order for CIAngel to work, but I also heard you can download a file which makes all games work (wings.json?). I'm not exactly sure how these things work as of now. If someone can clear this up for me, that'll be awesome. :)

wings.json is just a community contribution database of game titles, it is what allows CIAngel to install the CIA's correctly.
CIAngel is used for installing specific games (Use the search, find the game, install it), just as FreeShop will be when it is released.

Will you still need to download tickets if you have wings.json?

Tickets are just a part of the installation process. When you install a CIA, a ticket gets installed with it (It's embedded in the CIA). wings.json allows CIAngel to create that ticket when generating/installing the CIA. So you don't need to find a ticket separately, CIAngel creates it from the wings.json data.

Ah, I see. I have one more question in mind. Do you need to regularly update wings.json, say when new games come out? Thanks!

That must be rough. Productive I'm sure but hard to balance with daily life

@Maximumbeans, Indeed. I've been working on getting this Infecutus chip to work on my PS2. But after soldering, I realised that a plastic piece was missing from the power ribbon cable to the power and eject buttons.
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
Now I could go with soldering the contacts from the cable to the connector on the mobo, but doesn't sound like a good permanent solution.

Man, that's beyond my brain  I'm no good with hardware for now. I'd like to get into hardmods in future though

@Maximumbeans, Maybe start practice soldering. Get a cheap-ass soldering iron and follow some good YouTube tutorials.

Least my experience has gotten better than over a decade ago. My iron would constantly bump into components and break them.
  • Maximumbeans @ Maximumbeans:
Sounds good. I actually did soldering but like 16 years ago for school so uuuuh probably rusty haha
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
@Maximumbeans, Same here. I did soldering at school from a teacher who I honestly liked since he had plenty of good electronics experience.

It was like all clear and fancy. Tbf I'm not too experienced with chess, but would like to learn someday.
